Created with Andrea Doria in mind... I wish TCM had recorded Sydney Guilaroff reminiscing about Norma Shearer's full 'n' funky hair.

Oh thank you, NoShear ! This is a great idea for a thread. I never get tired of all the fabulous hairdos in the classic films, and yes Norma Shearer's hair always flew out the side of her head in tiny waves like a wild extension of her personality!! Here's the gorgeous Maude Fealy. One of my favorites.

One of the great Hollywood heads of hair, with a hairline altered by electrolysis (or so the story goes), belongs to Rita Hayworth making one of the best entrances in a movie ever in her career defining role in "Gilda."
I also love Veronica Lakes famous peekaboo style:

It's your thread, Andrea Doria: I'm confident that it was you who once opened a 'hair salon' for TCM Message Board members... The image of Maude Fealy is worthy of an Andrea Doria avatar!

Ah, two of the prettiest, Fading Fast. My husband rarely watches old movies and wouldn't know Myrna Loy from Mae West, but he knows who Veronica Lake is and just said "Hi" to her from his recliner across the room.

Agreed, they are both beautiful women, but so is Loy (West is more about personality and confidence), yet I only thought of them for this thread because their hair is so much a part of their screen presence.
With Loy and West, both actresses I've seen in many movies, I can hardly tell you what their hair looks like, but say "Hayworth" or "Lake" and their cascading heads of hair immediately come to mind.
"My husband rarely watches old movies and wouldn't know Myrna Loy from Mae West" LOL.
In our "Sunday Live, Don't Be So Melodramatic" movie yesterday, "The Garment Jungle," I noticed Gia Scala's impressive head of hair. It has a beautiful and healthy swing and "kick."

LOL I kept wanting to tighten up that spaghetti strap for her, but I'm pretty sure she wanted it that way. She did have pretty hair!

Kristine Miller had great hair. In "Too Late for Tears" it looked darker and when she turned around you could see it was very long for the time.
The little side love story between these two is one of my favorite things about this film.

Miller's is a first-tier head of hair, but the star of the movie, Lizabeth Scott, has some nice locks herself.
Miller and DeFore's love story is the one nice thing in that twisted movie, but my favorite "love story" in that one is Scott and Duryea having hate sex as neither one is capable of true love. It's such a noir thing: "I don't trust you; I'm trying to steal from you and I'd even kill you and take all the money for myself if I could, but sure, let's sleep together since we need each other to stay alive right now anyway."

Hate sex for sure! I love "Too Late for Tears," so much it's in danger of passing up "Double Indemnity," in my noirish heart. My favorite thing is Duryea's fear when he realizes the little blonde housewife he was trying to bully is way more evil than he ever pretended to be.
Best picture I've ever seen of Lizabeth!

Best picture I've ever seen of Lizabeth! It's a really beautiful picture of her.
"Too Late for Tears" is a really good one, but "Double Indemnity" has Robinson's insurance investigator Keyes, one of my favorite quirky noir characters of all time. Plus, there's Stanwyck in her cheap blonde wig, sunglasses and ankle bracelet firing up every man's white-trash libido.
I enjoy Scott as an actress a lot and think she doesn't get the attention she deserves, but part of that is because her acting was uneven as some of her performances are underwhelming. Another favorite of hers for me is "Pitfall," which is one of her best roles and it's in an underrated noir.

I never thought the blond Lucille Ball was unattractive..... But there's no complaint on my part for her going red................. Sepiatone

If I correctly recall, Andrea Doria, you Liked the one from F*R*I*E*N*D*S which I posted back at your old salon: With her full face and similar coloring/set to the eyes, Jennifer Aniston's shoot here gives some support to comparisons drawn between Norma Shearer and her.
