Never noticed it before, but I see it now.
Aniston has the much better hair though.

Lauren Bacall had a head of hair for the ages.

That's a protest "Like", Sepiatone. I was going to point out that not many women(and actresses in this case) can pull off the totally bald look. Persis did so splendidly, and I was going to add the black actress that played Sidney Poitier's wife in SOMETHING OF VALUE('57) but couldn't find her name anywhere. And you do know I was havin' a bit of fun by posting that. Right? Sepiatone

Actually, I was touched by Robert Duvall's love interest in THX 1138.

I've always felt Bette Davis' hair was never more beautiful than as Margo Channing. I suspect she felt the same way because she handles her hair a lot in the film, and it always looks just great.

I agree BunnyWhit. I notice Davis's hair many times throughout the film. That hair and that dress help Margo stand up to Eve in looks as well as talent. Ann Baxter is wearing the short tight hairstyle, just coming into fashion in 1950, that didn't do much for most women. Marilyn, of course, didn't need hair.

Oh thank you, NoShear ! This is a great idea for a thread. I never get tired of all the fabulous hairdos in the classic films, and yes Norma Shearer's hair always flew out the side of her head in tiny waves like a wild extension of her personality!! Here's the gorgeous Maude Fealy. One of my favorites.
A Maude Fealy Encore... Thank you for your creative description of Norma Shearer's hair, Andrea Doria - it's still appreciated!!

Another personal favorite head of hair is on Ella Raines, who also sports one of the greatest widow peaks of all time.

I've always loved Audrey Hepburn's initial "frumpy" look before the makeover in "Funny Face." I know she's supposed to look dowdy, but I like her hair here in its simple beauty versus the, often, too-elaborate styles they gave it.

Can I post a hair-don't, one which makes me LOL? Viveca Lindfors in King of Kings goes through a series of hairdo changes which always give me the giggles. It's like Jesus a-Go Go, with the crazy 1960's vibe. My favorite is the tall pointy one, which at one point has a veil on it, as if one more thing wouldn't bring it crashing down.
