Plenty of time for all kinds of weird & wonderful creatures imho. Strange I don't remember Diver Dan. I wonder if he ever came across this fabulous amphibian... The Singing Frog Part 1 The Singing Frog Part 2 And a shameless plug for my favorite rodent - Walter the Lazy Mouse - well, perhaps. I do have some pretty cute Squabbits running around my pussy willow. From the Jackalope family - one is a squirrel with no tail that hops like a bunny. The other is a squirrel posing as Pepé Le Pew with white stripes.

Everybody! Let's sing along....Wait, what are the words??? OMG. I loved those - how are they gone from my memory!? I blame the aluminum pots of my childhood. I must update my rodent/animal ruling after finding A BAT SLEEPING ON MY WINDOW BOX THIS MORNING. Why in all the gin joints and bushes and trees and shrubberies in this nutty city must this happen to MOI!? If I could find the Superman Bizarro version of these I would post them. I do not long to be Snow White of Chiroptera. Snow White meets forest animals Snow White - A Smile and a Song

Awww. Cutie pies.
OK, so rodents are out. I have a squirrel situation myself and the chipmunks are testing my nerves, but no bats to speak of, or at least none showing up at my window.
I think this may be the Superman Bizarro version:

I think this may be the Superman Bizarro version: YES!!! ROTFL. Don't even get me STARTED on chipmunks. Hey wait, they are YOUR singing friends, are they not? Squirrel situation!? Do tell all ILM. I house sat once for a friend who took 10 YEARS to blow torch off all the old layers of paint from the outside of his house and re-did it in a stunning historical yellow. The squirrels went NUTS, if you'll pardon the pun, when I was there and gnawed a second floor window ledge right off. Who took the blame? I think this should boost our nutty spirits & hopefully not send us off to the nearest chewed up second storey ledge. The Osmonds (1972) - OPENING

Speaking of bad apples and squirrels...same thing. They don't just stick to their trees, which would be fine, they get down and mess with things, especially bird feeding stations. Baltimore Orioles stop by every year and I try to attract them with cut oranges and grape jelly, their favorites, but the squirrels always booty up first and leave the dregs for the birds. They can always find a way. And I used to think I liked chipmunks because of Chip and Dale, but then I found out how much they love to dig tunnels and leave pot holes all over the yard. And field mice, who have nothing but time on their hands, can get into anything. I don't believe in poisoning, so scorn is my only weapon. Anyway, to get us back in a cheery mood a-la The Osmonds:

Oh thank you ILM for your charming yet alarming animal tales. Cold comfort I know but I feel like I am the only one. The Ice Palace at Varykino (a decommissioned 1960s mid-century modern school) is under siege from I think moles? voles? I never see them so I don't know. Ah well. All these things too shall pass. I hope.
I am worried about your anything being UNDERSCORED. Your squirrels are truly luxuriating. At least I now have bats as a new distraction.

British TV apparently had its own batch of singing critters. I'm ready to do a deep dive into Pink and Perky, I'll tell you that.

I came across this while looking for a different clip from the Disney compilation animated feature Make Mine Music (1946) for another thread and of course I knew that an opera-singing whale would be welcomed here with open arms. But I had reservations because, unfortunately, where there are whales there are often harpoons and Disney never could resist a pull on the heartstrings. I don't want to be the cause of any curtain clutching, but Willie on the stage of The Met is too good to pass up.

Rick Springfield had Mission: Magic! (1973-1974) well before he had the hots for Jessie's Girl.
