YES! to more lunch boxes. As a deprived child, forced to eat lunch in my Happy House, whilst watching The Flintstones, I never had a lunch box. I did have occasion to try to find a replacement for the under-the-sink-what's-this-rusty-old-thing clean-out-incident that saw this baby go out in the trash:

YES! to more cartoons. I still have heaps of comics stored at the Ice palace at Varykino. No doubt they are mouse nibbled and rotting but that won't stop me. THIS comic scared me to death as a kid. I FINALLY tracked it down as an adult and IT STILL SCARES ME. It is a twice told story - one side panel is the adult point of view, telling of the evil children's doings. The other side panel is the the situation told by the butter wouldn't melts. YIKES. House of Secrets (Volume 1) July, 1974

Do you remember your first lunch box little no shear? I think this was my first one even though it had been around since early in the 1960s - it must have been pretty popular, galacticgirrrl:

From Red Hot Mama (1933). It was banned somewhere I think, but I remember seeing it on TV.

You chose it yourself? And first!? You mean there were others? Did the spaceship meet with a cataclysmic crunch in the schoolyard? Or you simply luxuriated in multiples? At what age did you have to put away childish things and switch to a brown bag? I am sorry for so many questions but it really is totally foreign to me, like I just dropped in from outer space. BTW, I see NASA extended the deadline to apply for the next space mission 'til Tuesday if anyone is interested. I did pop out to try to find what lunch box I would have selected if our school allowed us to eat there....SO many to choose from - unreal. Of course no Simon & Garfunkel, but look what some genius decoupaged: Vintage lunchbox purse has reader saying, ‘It was mine!’ fortmyers.floridaweekly.com/articles/vintage-lunchbox-purse-has-reader-saying-it-was-mine/

I always relished the great friendship between Frida Lyngstad & Jon Lord.
