I'm in the mood for stupid, so I thought I'd bump up this thread. I didn't know you could play an elephant. Like, I was wondering if one of The FLINTSTONES writers wandered into some coffeehouse with "Gas" somewhere in its name and thought of the following behemoth Beatnik: Eric "Big Daddy" Nord appeared in a suggested Bad Movies We Love / Guilty Pleasures. if haven't slummed here yet, I Love Melvin:

Madame!!!!!! How could I have forgotten all about you!? Fabulous.
I was off trying to find a singing Priscilla cartoon to deal with Miss Margrock but I only found her trip-trip-tripping with Sir Paul. REALY strange. No singing so I'll go with.....

Elvis Presley - Viva Las Vegas (Agent Elvis - Official Animated Music Video) Naturally, I couldn't be satisfied until I ran down Pricilla tripping with Paul, and while in the rabbit hole this popped up. It's amazing how creatively stupid people can get these days. Kind of makes me want to get into this new-fangled technology thing.

Foresooth! What troveth of golden dubloon cartunes hast thou unearthed ILM? Trying VERY HARD not to howl too loudly this time. Positively redunkulous. This personage has done everyone and anyone from the modfather to the Oz munchkins. Holy mackeral. Your searching accidents are so much more hilarious than mine. Cowbell AND The Two of Us? Nirvana.

Your searching accidents are what brought us all here to this place of peace and contemplation, g-girrrl.
In keeping with your theme of underrated and misunderstood Americana, here's the Pre-Fab Four singing Lucy in the Water with an Octopus' Garden. Goo-goo g'joob.

Direct from Bananaville, here's the OG TV superkids in the kind of culturally insensitive nonsense we came to expect from them. It's longish, so either take something to ease the pain or bail. Your choice.
And for the hipsters in our audience here's a more recent call to arms. Mickey will prevail. Do not resist.

Um this song is almost 20 years old!? Why didn't someone tell me time was going to go crazy spinning out of control. Remember when you were a kid a day lasted eons!? Sheesh. And movie stars get younger too. Someone you thought was ancient now you realize was 20. I can tell there's something going on Hours seems to disappear
You know how to whistle, don't you Steve? You just put your lips together and blow. Peter Bjorn and John - Young Folks

You know how to whistle, don't you Steve? You just put your lips together and blow. Peter Bjorn and John - Young Folks That whistle. Do I detect echoes of a certain notorious magic flute? I'm surprised you were this willing to poke that particular bear. But you're right; it's nice to know what the "young folk" are up to, especially when they can speak in thought bubbles. My favorite is the guitarist's: "Nice!" If I only had to communicate in thought bubbles for the rest of my life I'd be happy, so thank you for posting this Utopian vision. It's no longer like the old days, when we had responsible adults to show us the way.

There's no flute, but look out for that trumpet. From The Three Caballeros (1944).

I like how dusty he was when he broke through walls; that's authenticity. We had a black and white TV so I never realized Lois was a redhead. Good song too. Here's some kids figuring out the other side of all that power.

I don't know what it says about me, and please don't tell me, but, as I've said before, I actually find these guys soothing. It's a little like living next to an airport; after a while, it's all white noise.
And another favorite from days of yore, a balladeer for the ages, Bullwinkle J. Moose.
