I hope they make her a Dame. Read that's what she wants. I guess it's up to King Charles.

Such lovely photos. Glynis Johns is an underrated actress. The first film in which I saw Glynis Johns was THE COURT JESTER. I thought her voice had been intentionally made to sound husky for comedic purposes! It wasn't until I saw her in another film in which she was still a teenager, THE 49TH PARALLEL, that I realized that was really her voice.
One of my favorite performances of hers is as mother Mamie Eunson in ALL MINE TO GIVE.
Biographies state that she was an accomplished ballet dancer by age 11. I wish she had made some musical films so I could see that!

She appeared in a few films with her father, stage actor Mervyn Johns. Talented family.

My friends were obsessed with deaths come in threes (where did that come from?) My father had just died and this Hollywood trio of deaths sticks in my memory with my father's:
Rock Hudson Oct 2 Orson Wells Oct 10 Yul Brynner Oct 10
All three have special films I enjoy. Thanks for hours of entertainment.

Yul Brynner won an Oscar and a Tony for his role in The King and I. My favorite song from that movie/musical is "Shall We Dance".

I'll be posting a remembrance for someone who passed away 30 years ago later this month. He passed away on Halloween, so wait and see who it is.

Is it someone who made horror films? I ask because you mention Halloween, which would be an appropriate date for a horror star.
