The Bills escape. How disappointing. I want all the front runners to go down to ignominious defeat. In Tampa Bay beats Dallas, the games are fixed. The games don't seem real. Are they instructed to keep the games close?. Highly unlikely. The closeness of the games on average uncanny. Dream like.

I CAN'T STAND over-the-plain-touchdowns. (player must penetrate the end zone with his body and football in carrying normal carrying position. The ball cannot be in front of the ball carrier's head.
I CAN'T STAND pylon touchdowns (see above)
I CAN'S STAND cheap touchdowns (a fumble recovery is dead, no advancing the football)

Anyone with any picks today? I'm going with the 49ers and the Jags. The Charger are 1.5 favorite but got whupped 38-10 earlier in the season. The Charger are however an improved team. What say you, anyone? Like jjg, I was pulling for the Hawks. Wanted to see Geno Smith (former New York (Jets) star) lead the team a bit further but nothing against the 9ers or Chargers. Kudos for them. Psyched that both my local teams (Bills and Giants) are advancing to the Divisionals. I think most had the Vikings over Big Blue. The Miami-Buffalo game was a toss up, to be honest, and though I love my Bills, I really can’t see the pick prone Allen leading them much further. His big 4th quarter mistakes have disappeared, thank goodness. But Daniel Jones, was the happy surprise for me last night. 300 yards passing, 78 yards running and 2 TDs, first for any playoff qb:

The Chargers got too many easy points early. They can't handle it. I get the L.A. Times so of course there is a lot of coverage on the Chargers. I believe most of the fault is with the head coach, Staley. I felt management should of fired Staley last year. Anyhow, one of the L.A. Times articles today has a bi-line of: Staley was outwitted by Pederson. The other is: Players insist they believe in Staley.

I'm pretty neutral on most of the teams in the playoffs, like the Jags, Bengals, Bills, et al. I guess I'll pull for the 49ers and the Giants as long as they stay in. Cowboys vs. Bucs. The good news is that either the Cowboys or Brady will be eliminated tonight. The bad news is that one of them won't be. Okay, get rid of Dallas first. I think it will be easier to get rid of Tom Terrific later on. Dallas has never beaten Brady, so maybe that will hold. If this was strictly an objective betting proposition, I'd go for the Cowboys.

I'm neutral on all the teams since I'm back to being a Rams fan (since they moved back to So Cal and I grew up with them the first time they were in the area) and have been a Raider fan (since they moved to So Cal and won with Marcus Allen). I'm pulling for the Giants, as the up-and-coming underdog with a first year coach). For the AFC, I really don't favor any team, but I guess I'll root for KC based on Reid and his coaching legacy (and Mahone is the best QB in the league). As for tonight's game: Yea, my wife will be wondering when she sees me pulling for the Bucs (I don't like Brady, but he is the GOAT). Yea, Dallas is my lease favorite team. But I agree that from an objective POV, Dallas should win. The Bucs. can't score (average < 17 points per game the last 8 games if I recall correctly). That Dallas offense should be able to score at least in the 20s.

I just consulted the playoff brackett at CBS Sportsline website and don't understand it. I have tried and tried and no dice. For one think, it is not up to date. So do they have a frickin new way of bracket making now? I wanted to find out who Dallas plays if they win. I think the Giants. That would be a good matchup and let's hope that the Bucs DON'T spoil it by beating Dallas. They have no business in the playoffs and especially a home game, I understand the rule that a Division Winner gets a home game in the first round but it sucks. All playoffs should be seeded in the usual way. It's enough that TB gets a chance in the playoffs, but a home game---no way!

I liked the Raiders when they were in Oakland/LA, but Las Vegas just doesn't seem to go with the old rough and tough reputation of the Raiders. Brady is a great quarterback, but I've never liked him. If not for him, the Bucs would be another neutral team. I still remember when I was a kid a Goat was a bad thing to be, especially in baseball.

Are you saying you don't have an NFL team that you hope wins-it-all, regardless; E.g. a team you have been a fan of since you were a kid? E.g. a local team you root for regardless of how good they are? Hey, maybe you live in Hawaii or Alaska? (I'm cracking wise because I did know a guy that lived in Hawaii and had all his life and since there is no local team, he would switch team he would root for year to year). Did you watch White Heat last night? Virginia at her best as a cheating gangster moll.

I was more of a baseball fan as a kid. I suppose I liked the Jets, especially when Broadway Joe won the Super Bowl. I've been a Steelers' fan for a long time. They may be on one of those rebuilding campaigns after Big Ben, though Kenny Pickett looked fairly good in the last half of the season. See what happens next year. After that Cowboys-Bucs game, I even felt a little sorry for Brady. You can only get so far behind and then it's impossible to catch up, even for a guy like Tom Brady.
The good thing about having seen a movie many times is that you can choose to watch it again or not. Sometimes I'm in the mood to watch those types of movies, sometimes not, or else something else is on. I skipped it last night. Virginia is sexy but she's not very nice to say the least, but with a creep like Cody (and his nutty mother) who can blame her. I always get a kick out of Steve Cochran's pinstripe suit. It seems he wore one in every other gangster flick he was in.
