There's been so many I liked over the years it's hard for me to boil it down to one. There was ANDY DEVINE as "Jingles" in the old "Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok" DENNIS WEAVER as Chester Goode in "Gunsmoke" TIM CONWAY as ensign Charles Parker on "McHale's Navy" HARRY MORGAN as officer Bill Gannon on the late '60's reboot of "Dragnet" And of course, DON KNOTTS as deputy Barney Fife on "The Andy Griffith Show" And I've always considered MOREY AMSTERDAM as Buddy Sorrell as a sidekick on "The Dick Van Dyke Show". And personally, I preferred MIKE FARRELL as B.J. Hunnicutt over WAYNE ROGERS' "Tapper John" on M*A*S*H. And of course, GARY BURGHOFF as "Radar" as sidekick to McLean Stevenson's Henry Blake on the same show. And likely more the old bean can't dredge up. Sepiatone

Note that the last two posts are confusing to me. They mention sidekicks that are clearly in the above chart: Barney, Buddy, Kato, and Artmus.
Does the chart not display for the two of you? (for me, it did take a while to appear).

The chart does disappear since the link is from Twitter. But it does show; It is a chart with brackets: The first bracket is for 8 rounds. E.g. Barry Fife (1) vs Sally Rogers (16), Spock (2) vs Danny Williams (15), etc.. If you click on the top of the initial post (or your post, since it shows up there as well since you used the "quote" feature), it will take you directly to Twitter and the chart.

I can see the chart, but that's about it. The print is too small for me to easily read even on my 20" PC monitor. And KATO was the sidekick. Not The Green Hornet. And what about Lon Chaney Jr. as Chingachgook from "Hawkeye And The Last Of The Mohicans"(1957) ? Sepiatone

What about the Man from Uncle or Get Smart's 99. Both are listed in the chart: 99 is #4 and Illya #10. I guess you're another user that can't 'see' the chart.

Kato is listed #8 going against Della Street at #9. (The typical bracket ranking contest when there are 16 entries; 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14 etc....). I can see all the names and I'm using a laptop.

Nope. Print still too small for me. And besides, I was referencing NOSHEAR's photo of the Green Hornet and Kato looking out of a window preceded by the words;
"How about this pair of masked ones from '66/'67 MR6667?" And since this is a thread about sidekicks it did appear that Noshear was implying that the both of them were sidekicks.

I'm confident that your computer skills are far superior to mine, jamesjazzguitar, so I never was able to see anything more than some truncated Twitter post... It must have been interesting for some people catching Bruce Lee as Kato on the HORNeT series back in the 1966/67 period as that time predated the kung fu fad which was going on fifty years ago this summer.

I wish someone would set up a favorite TV sidekick poll with brackets like the one on favorite films.
Maybe 32 selections (thus 16 initial matches, instead of 8 like in the chart).
As for why don't I do this: I'm too lazy!
