The UI (User Interface) could use an optimization on forum topics. One enhancement would benefit all, but especially those forums that have fast growth, like today's 'Sunday Live' which added about 10 pages today for its film. I hope it occurs to other readers that the page widget should also appear at the page BOTTOM to allow the advancement to the 'Next' page for continued reading flow. It makes little sense to scope the page back to its HEAD-positioned page widget to go forward. What Say Ye? I'm punching this for attention one more time.
Try reading yesterday's Stella Dallas from the first page through to the last, to see the irritating effect. Please do something about reading flow from page to page without having to go to top-of-page to advance. Thanks.
Have you participated in this forum other than your original post and this one "punching" it for attention? Asking for a friend.

It's like having to flip back to a table of contents at chapter end, just to go to the next chapter, rather than just flipping a page.

On a PC, the page number list with the Next button stays in a fixed location at the top of the page, so it's really easy to click to the next page without having to jump around. Don't know about mobile devices.

You should send your suggestion to the free forums.net people. My assumption is if your suggestion could be easily added on these boards it would be.

This forum is much better, especially the users.

I can never keep track of the drama since I never participate in it. I'd rather discuss classic movies. Who, what and where someone said whatever is really irrelevant to me.

It would be relevant to you if threads you created where locked or removed by mods due to trolls or you're banned. These things all happened to users at this forum, at the SSO forum, due to the troll in question. After these things happened at SSO I put this user on "ignore". The first time I ever used that function at any forum. As for discussions of classic movies: at lot more of that occurs here, even with less than half the old TCM users, than it does at SSO. That is one of the major reasons I like this forum over SSO. (but I do miss people, like Dargo, etc... that are only at SSO so I will continue to use both forums).

I've attempted to use that forum but, for whatever reason, after I made a profile, It wouldn't let me back in. No biggie.
Of course one would have to wonder why a thread was banned. I been on some boards where just disagreeing would cause banning, which is ridiculous. Over there I read several threads about this board, as if there was some sort of competition, which is also ridiculous.
There are those who start drama no matter what the subject of the board. The key is who the moderators are and if they can see through it all.

I'd be very happy if she were to come here. Smartest, funniest, most readable member I ever saw on the TCM boards.

You're correct that the key is the mods and at SSO the mods are misguided, at best. E.g. they pick favorites and go after those that they disagree with on issues other than their conduct. I.e. very unprofessional, and ridiculous as you note. Here there is only one mod, Top Billed, and he uses a very light touch IMO. Oh, well back to the movies! Tonight's Noir Alley is another TCM premier, the Monogram film, I Wouldn't Be in Your Shoes (1948): Tom (Don Castle) and Ann (Elyse Knox) are a down-and-out dance team, and while Don seeks engagements, Ann works as an instructor at a dance academy, with Detective Judd (Regis Toomey) one of the many customers she meets. On a hot summer night Tom, awaken from his sleep, tosses his only pair of shoes out the window to quiet two noisy cats. He goes down to retrieve them and can't find them, but Ann discovers...

Overall, this is a great site and Topbilled deserves an incredible amount of praise for building and managing it, so what follows is a quibble about "Pro Boards" and not a comment on this forum's content or Topbilled.
With that said, I find the search feature here all but unusable. Once in awhile, I get lucky, but often I can't find a post that I know exists no matter how many different approaches I try under search.
Like most of us, I use search features all the time on other sites and find they all work some version of okay to very good, but - and maybe it's me - I rarely have any luck with this one.
How have others' experience been using the search feature here?

How have others' experience been using the search feature here? You're right, their search feature is sub-standard. I just tried using it and it seems like you have to know who wrote the post you are trying to find. And if you can remember the date, which seems way too specific.
I never use the search feature. But I have a photographic memory so 98% of the time I will be able to remember where I saw something and can find it again. Not everyone has that type of automatic recall, so a stronger search feature by ProBoards would be ideal.

By chance, then, do you recall in what thread somebody recommend to me the BBC 2017 version of "Little Women." I watched and enjoyed it and wanted to thank the member who recommend it, but I can't find the thread and searching "Little Women" (even refined fifteen different ways) was useless. Thank you.
