These are so much fun. One song could go on forever. I wish I had time to pop into all genres for each song...and era.

This song title must have a million of hits. I find if I paste more than one or two it gets a bit unwieldy.

I like this one because (1) it was the result of a dare, (2) it's by Cole Porter, and, (3) well, it's a good song. 😆

Three thumbs up on that one dianedebuda. I love these challenge type stories. I guess we only get to hear the ones where the challenger ends up looking ridiculous.
Quite a few interesting versions out there of this one - Frank Sinatra, Florence Henderson....

I get "Video Unavailable", so maybe this one with Florence Henderson?

Oh drats. Thanks for letting me know. I was trying to post the Kitty Carlisle version which I find utterly charming. Hope this one works Song of Norway. Operetta written by Robert Wright and George Forrest, adapted from the music of Edvard Grieg and the book by Milton Lazarus and Homer Curran. Original cast recording includes Lawrence Brooks, Helena Bliss, Robert Shafer and others from the original Broadway production. However, Kitty Carlisle filled in as the female lead, replacing Irra Petina who had contractual obligations to Columbia. Recorded in 1945. Transfer from the original six record Decca 78 set DA-382 by Bob Varney.
