I'm nervous for Thurston Moore, though, here - and with good reason. His scuffle with Kathleen Hanna is said to have got him a bloody lip:

Interestingly I see Kim (who is also an actress) has a favorite song....(even though Fran Lebowitz tells us favorites are impossible, favorites are for children)My Favorite Song | Kim Gordon NYT By Flora Hanitijo October 9, 2019 The artist and musician reflects on her favorite Neil Young lyrics. nyti.ms/2H0r5mb Which does have a cheeky film link of course..."One of my favorite album covers is On the Beach. Of course that was the name of a movie and I stole it for my record, but that doesn't matter" - Neil YoungI am going to go with another song selection from that album."Motion Pictures," the second-to-last song on On The Beach, is about Neil Young's relationship with actress Carrie Snodgress. Snodgress was in a number of Broadway shows and films, including Easy Rider, Pale Rider, and Diary of a Mad Housewife. She was also the top pick to play Adrian in Rocky, but she turned down the role.Motion Pictures (For Carrie) (2016 Remaster)

I'd love to see you filmed at Amoeba Music, galacticgirrrl: The cameraman would be all over the place! Wouldn't you have KILLED to have all these Bag / Movie closet / LPs that made you web shows when you were a kid? SO interesting.
The cameraman with me would be BLEEPING half the content. I would be cursing up & down the aisles about the high cost of new vinyl - at least up here in the great white north: $56.99 $64.99 $39.99 $52.99 Sorry I'm a bit late in response, galacticgirrrl: I'd taken the LAST TRAIN TO SKAVILLE... I laughed cried about the censoring of your language: from 6 to 36 and beyond at the Whisky a Go Go ticket booth!! I'm not too sure the Internet would've been a good thing for me if it had been more than just the vision of Pete Townshend's Grid when I was a child, galacticgirrl: I easily can picture the trouble I would've invited upon myself after discovering the combo of eBay and PayPal...

ROTFL!! Good one BunnyWhit. Some music is priceless. I do love reading the YouTube comments on this one:
If you ever hear this song on the radio, it probably means the world is about to end.
"Do you have any other records like that?" "There are no other records like that."
Everything the blues is supposed to be—chthonic, eldritch, diabolical—but never actually is, this song is.

"She Left Me a Mule to Ride"
From CBC Television's Festival (1966), it's Big Joe Williams, King of the 9-String Guitar.
He's backed by the incomparable Willie Dixon on stand up bass and S.P. Leary on drums.

What a great clip. My tax dollars hard at work/well spent for a change.
Getting anything out of the CBC archives is next to impossible. I love the comments from an insider on this one - shows you just how hard it is to come by such footage:
I am mystified as to how this made it out of the vault. It appears in the form that resulted from the initial transfer from the 2" Ampex to the 1" digital Chris and I sat in on. Our show was eventually sold for distribution to Rhino Records under the title "The Bluesmasters" ( the re-mixed, re-broadcast selections from 1996 as hosted by guitarist Colin James, each song I re-mastered on a Dyaxis DAW) What we have here is something from the tunes that didn't make the cut - if you can believe it. But I don't know how you got your hands on it - but |I'm glad you did. Cheers for the posting.
