Joy Division~ Their first studio album was, unfortunately, their penultimate studio album.

What am I listening to?
Well, it depends when you ask. Sometimes I go through "jags" and will wear out a particular artist's recordings or one LP in particular. My most recent "jag" was this one, and this one song in particular...

Interesting. I really thought the repeat activity was something attributed more to those of us of the female persuasion. Not trying to be incendiary just something I really thought.
I remember getting this '45 and putting my Dad's turntable on the repeat for what quite possibly may have been hour(s). And at the time I didn't even like Queen or David Bowie as far as I knew...

I once had this turntable which I thought was pretty sexy. AND the rest of the system it was matched with. Bang&Olufsen Beogram 6000 Sepiatone

Errrrr, I loved my bubble stereo from the gas station!?? A step up from my little RCA suitcase player with a penny on the arm to keep it from bouncing.

Love the B&O TT. Being a hands on guy with the tone arm, not sure about linear tracking. That is the way records are made, I believe. I have seen a Sony with linear tracking before it was the thing to consider. It could find each track an put the stylus in place. I do remember the dime on the tone arm to keep a record from skipping at a Junior High School dance. I've done DJ stuff for ever. Someone brought there own record player in versus the traditional record players from school. It would not track 45s very well. A dime versus a penny as the penny is heavier. Don't need to burn the needle into the grooves. All my record players from the past were record changers, made by BSR. Yes, even the flip stylus. 3 speed as well. Today all you can buy new are belt drive or direct drive, and yes they are better. I prefer the old fashioned idler or rim drive. The bubble stereo is a ton of adorable. I don't really purchase music much anymore. Vinyl at $25. That's crazy but they are novelty now.
It is sad that people purchase the new suitcase record players, which do not care how much money you spent on a record. Thanks sepiatone and galacticgirrrl! I have a free account with Spotify and can sometimes get 30 minutes for free without ads, if I watch one ad. A couple of nights ago, I mellowed with some piano music:

Born into music royalty, the daughter of folk legends Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III and sister to the highly acclaimed, genre-defying singer Rufus Wainwright, Martha grew up in a world filled with incomparable musical legends—Anna McGarrigle, Leonard Cohen, Suzzy Roche, Richard and Linda Thompson, Emmylou Harris.
And on the jukebox is your Is your only song & I I have never remembered the words Now I've waited, waited too long I've waited too long Our love is gone
