As expected Alicia Malone had no outro for Barrios Altos. (For those keeping score.)

I wonder if the use area for the sets and with the layoffs don't have the people to change the props. I watch a movie called Majority of One. The setting was Japan, and an American woman came to a Japanese residence, it was raining so she changed her clothes when she came back to the same room all the furniture was changed and different wall hanging was up.

I just watched Diving Miss Daisy. Ben is the host tonight and only talked about the film before it was aired. That's a shame. That means that half of the pleasure viewers get from watching and listening to the hosts are being taken away. I am wondering if this is because of everything going on with TCM. In my opinion, it's not a good move.
That's one of the very things that makes TCM!

I was very pleased that Ben included OUTROS last evening after the selection of Don Knotts films. Hopefully, they won't disappear again!

I’m guessing that the outros are coming back gradually, probably something to do with the hosts’ filming schedules. Very glad to see them — I really noticed their absence.
Am I remembering correctly that Eddie didn’t lose any of his outros before SUTS started? Again, I’d guess that he (and we) benefited from his already having filmed his outros before they could be discontinued.

Also glad the outros are returning. They increase enjoyment of the classics for old and new viewers. Without them, less chance of increasing viewership

Neither Eddie Muller nor Jacqueline Stewart lost their outros. Malone and Karger outros are supposed to return in October.

I don't know about outros but sometimes I use watch TCM sometimes their extras are multiple intros sometimes by the same person. Couldn't TCM reuse some.

It's been a while but when I had access to the powers that be I suggested that they could use Robert Osborne's Intro (and there's been a lot more since he's passed) to introduce movies during the day and early morning hours.
I suspect it would be too time consuming cataloguing all those intros and tying them to a movie. As we all know they are trying very hard to cut corners over there so I doubt we'll ever see that happen.

So how many weeks of outros were lost for the various hosts?
And on average, how many intros/outros does each host normally do? Have we ever counted the typical monthly output on these?

Note that was you are suggesting is one of the core issues in the writer's and actor's strike: re-use of material that was pre-recorded. Clearly such uses reduce employment opportunities of living union members. Also, in many cases, the writers (living or dead) of such pre-recorded material are not paid royalties. Host\actors (living or dead) are often not paid royalties. Frankly I don't know where I sit on this complex strike, but I believe it will not be settled before the end of the year (if that). PS: one of the most interesting of the writer union demands is a minimum number of writers, per project, regardless of if they are needed or not (e.g. AI software does some of the writing). This was a way for the union to say we are NOT telling studios not to use AI software, but regardless of that they still have to pay writers (even if they don't have a lot to do).
