He could at least look at her when she's speaking!

This interrogation scene is great...how he finally decided that the boy was telling the truth, and now he shall accept the brief. LOL

"The boy," Neil North, is an incredible actor.

This case will put the family into the poor house.
Before the days of GoFundMe campaigns. LOL

Dickie takes it like the fine young gentleman he is, poor student or not.

The father, Leighton and Dickie (kudos to Dickie, I had doubted he had it in him) are up to the challenge, but not the mother.

The father, Leighton and Dickie (kudos to Dickie, I had doubted he had it in him) are up to the challenge, but not the mother. The mother is a bit overwrought at times.
I had to chuckle when the feminist daughter finally decided to get a job and not rely on her impending marriage. A good feminist wouldn't have taken so long to make such a decision.

Dickie Winslow: I say, You're not going to be left on the altar rail or something, are you? Catherine Winslow: I'll get him across the altar rail if I have to drag him there. Dickie Winslow: Well, do you think you might have to? Catherine Winslow: Quite frankly, yes.
Freakin' hilarious.
Meanwhile, she really knows the engagement is already over and is looking to get a job. She's so cool.

"You're not wavering are you?" "No, I'm not wavering it's only" that "It's only" sounded like wavering to me.

I love that she's in it for the principle, not her brother and admits it.
I repeat, she's so cool.

I love her acting and the character, Catherine, too.
I also like Violet. She's more faithful than the mother.

From what I read, the courtroom scenes (trial) take place off-stage in the play.

I think Robert Donat is over acting some of these trial scenes.
Makes me appreciate the more subdued sincerity of Gregory Peck's performance in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD.
