Have you ever had a dream that was so vivid it seemed real? I've been googling to see if the outfit Loretta Young wore when she popped over the other day was perhaps real....it was so adorable: a cute casual pink romper/short overall with a white blouse. Apparently I needed help returning a rental van to the mall and she was just so lovely and nice to volunteer. Even when I made us pop back inside to see exactly where the car depot was she didn't skip a beat. She was even polite enough to grab my house keys out of door lock for me. ...that is sooooo Loretta.....

Hey gang. Can you guys see this image?
BunnyWhit, are you trying to add images by only copy/paste-ing directly into your posts? I've tried that, and it ends up blank. You have to use the icons at the top of the "create post" box that shows up when you click on the "quote" square. After you have copied your image's URL, select the third icon from the third section of icons (when you hover over it, the words "insert image" will show up.) If you click on that, then you can paste the image link into the space provided. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the only way to add an image on this forum.

Bunny might not have those icons at the top of the "create post" or "post quick reply" spaces unless the person clicks on the "reply" link at the far right of the "quick reply" bar art the top of the space. Might also be a device issue. Depending how they access this forum.

Sepiatone and Sagebrush, Thanks for the input. Yes, I do use the insert image icon. I use a photo storage site so that everything is all in one place, but the site I've been using is really having some troubles lately. I've tried all the moves I know to get it to work from there, but I've decided that I'm going to have to move to a different site. My photos used to show up here like they were supposed to, but now it seems they are all gone.
Been under the weather this week, but when I'm back on top of it again, I'll give this image issue some work. Thanks again....and stay tuned.....

I hope this post finds you feeling better, BunnyWhit... If not, here's a brief respite: THE GILDED AGE!! I recently caught the show's first episode and, naturally, thought of you -

Thank you, NoShear!
I'm climbing out from under it....slowly, but surely.
I always love to see the pretty gowns.....and I'm always glad I'm not expected to wear one!

I hope this post finds you feeling much better, BunnyWhit... Check out Clint Eastwood's snazzy style while enjoying Lalo Schifrin's snazzy score: I know the tradition advice is that every man needs a navy blazer in his closet, but I've found the grey herringbone sport coat the indispensable item. Now, if only I wore it one-tenth as cool as Eastwood did. Once you notice it, you'll be amazed at how many grey herringbone sport coats are worn by male characters in movies from the '50-'90s.

Revisiting the beaded bolero. Hope you all can see these images NOW ....please let me know. As I mentioned before, the gown and bolero ensemble is a lot. But Bette looks fabulous in the gown, and Madeleine looks stunning in the bolero.

All the images show - well done.
That gown looks incredible on Davis as does Madeleine in that bolero.

Thanks for posting the Robert Mitchum and Ken Takakura image on the "Hair Salon" thread, FadingFast.
You are right -- Takakura looks great in the grey herringbone sport coat. I might add that Mitchum looks pretty darn good in the turtleneck sweater and corduroy pants in that pic. Mitchum also wears a very pretty charcoal suit in the film. I also seem to remember that Brian Keith wears an ascot in this film, which is awesome.
Dorothy Jeakins was the costume designer for The Yakuza. I wonder if she had a personal affinity for a pretty coat because there are several of them in the film. Mitchum wears a pretty brown corduroy jacket (corduroy -- it was the '70s afterall), Keiko Kishi wears a chocolate leather trimmed and fur accented coat which appears to be a feminine silhouette of the shearling coat, and Mitchum is clad in a beautiful camel hair coat. Honestly -- not sure I'd trust someone who doesn't like the look of a man in a camel hair coat.
