A little update...I purchased a set of December Bride episodes from a seller on e-Bay a few days ago. I won't receive the shipment until next week sometime.
There were 157 total episodes produced over 5 seasons as I have detailed in previous posts. This particular seller was advertising that she had 118 episodes for sale. She says not to expect great things with the picture quality, which is fair, considering these episodes have never been properly restored. I expect they came from some recordings a person made off a local station that showed reruns, unless they are from Nick at Nite or TV Land. I shall find out.
Before I made the purchase, I asked her to send a list so I can see which 118 episodes were included out of the 157. She nicely sent a list to me. But the list only had 107 titles. I did not want to correct her on that. So when I receive the discs and start going through them, I will see if there really are 118 and she left 11 off the list. Or if there really are 107. Either way, I won't fuss over that, because I should at least have over 100 of them, which is a decent percentage of the overall total.
Per her list, it looks like she had almost every episode from seasons 1 and 2. Most of season 3 was on the list. And almost all of season 4. Season 5 was represented with about ten titles on her list, so that is the season which is most incomplete. From what I have read, the earlier seasons were the best anyways.
I certainly am not expecting these to be top quality video or audio, but I hope they are fairly watchable and that it won't be a waste of money or time buying them.

I received my December Bride discs in the mail yesterday, yay. I will watch a few episodes when I have time this coming weekend.
The seller provided a printout of all the episode titles included. When I had asked her online, and she had emailed a list to me, she had forgotten to include the titles on the last two discs. Those are episodes from season 5, plus there is an extra episode from another series. In total, I bought 117 episodes of December Bride...
Season 1: 30 out of 34 Season 2: 28 out of 31 Season 3: 17 out of 30 Season 4: 24 out of 31 Season 5: 18 out of 31
Looking at the numbers above, season 2 is the most complete. Seasons 3 & 5 are the least complete.
This seller was very pleasant. I will probably buy from her again, since she has another old-time series I am interested in purchasing.

And what would that be?

And what would that be? Sepiatone It's a lawyer-detective series call Lock-Up starring Macdonald Carey. I'd never heard of it before, but it seemed interesting. John Doucette is the costar. This particular seller has 72 out of 78 episodes for that show, and I found one episode on YouTube, which I watched and liked. I believe it ran from 1959 to 1961 for two seasons.
Ever watched it?

Y'know; I don't even seem to recall hearing of it either. I might look into it. Might be good watching.
Thanks for the info.

Maybe I missed them too, but in going over(and also maybe too quickly?) this thread again I didn't notice if a few of my often watched '50's shows were listed;
ADVENTURES OF WILD BILL HICKOK('51-'58)
THE ADVENTURES OF WILLIAM TELL('58-'59)
THE ADVENTURES OF JIM BOWIE('56-'58)
BAT MASTERSON('58-'61)
If these have already been mentioned I apologize.

I don't get GRIT, but AntennaTV was showing Bat a couple of years ago and quit after running them twice.

I watched two of the December Bride episodes I bought. The picture quality varies...one episode was very grainy, while the other one was much clearer. These seem to have been recorded years ago on VHS from some affiliate TV station.
The writing is very funny and of course Spring Byington is as wonderful as I expected she would be. What a shame that CBS/Paramount doesn't see the value in restoring the episodes and releasing the series on DVD, or to make the series available for streaming on its website. I am sure plenty of modern viewers would enjoy it.

My favorite show of all time is The Phil Silvers Show, also known as You'll Never Get Rich or Sgt. Bilko. My other favorite 1950's show is What's My Line?.

Give it time. I spent years buying several copies of Colonel March of Scotland Yard. All had bad audio in same ep. Then I lucked into seeing it on Amazon Prime.

Jackie Cooper had a sitcom called THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE. I watched for the basset hound Cleo, not a talking dog, but its thoughts were voice overs.

I remember seeing that when I was a kid. Pretty sure it was my first exposure to Jackie Cooper, but there was no doubt that Cleo was the star.

I was first familiar with Cooper from his TV show HENNESEY('59-'62) in which he had the role of a Navy doctor. I saw that show before ever seeing THE CHAMP('31) or any of his OUR GANG shorts.
