Since he's already a murderer, he should kill this POS country doctor.

This guy's hardly the kindly, caring and decent country doctor - he's a bitter, selfish man. They can’t all be Anton Chekhov!

A lot of medical and legal ethics being discussed. Interesting that the writer wanted this stuff in. It's good.

Even these day players, fretting over the girl's accident, give it their all.

The White Cliffs of Dover. I'm not English and have never been to England, but all the same, they always move me. It's all that Shakespeare: “This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.”

Mason’s moral deliberations would seem to make him the perfect Shakespeare’s Brutus. He does a more convincing job here than the Mankiewicz film (Julius Caesar), though. Not sure why.

No, James, don't do it! How can he care what some old heartless country doctor and that shrew think of his sanity?

No, James, don't do it! How can he care what some old heartless country doctor and that shrew think of his sanity? Agree with the sentiment, but he had to. The code (as Tobbilled noted) wouldn't let him get away with it and no-one wanted to see him on trial.
