Based on what we've seen, Kay didn't kill the sister-in-law - or have I lost the thread (quite possible)? I think she did.

The key out the window and being locked in the room is so Hitchcock.

Is that your opinion or did they show/tell/make it clear she did it? My opinion, based on things that were inferred in the dialogue. I don't see Rosamund John's character being someone who would actually commit suicide. Do you?

Why didn't he leave the body and make it look like Kay killed herself in guilt over her sister - I thought that was his plan?

That was wild! The ear bleeding screams, the key falling just before she did, James's expression.

The only counter is that Kay didn't seem at all concerned when Mason accused her of killing John, she was all but amused by the idea.

Why didn't he leave the body and make it look like Kay killed herself in guilt over her sister - I thought that was his plan? The British production code wouldn't allow him to get away with this murder, so he has to make the mistake of putting the body into his car.

That was wild! The ear bleeding screams, the key falling just before she did, James's expression. That was so well done.

Trivia:
The guy playing the truck driver is an American that was friends with the Masons, and he cowrote the screen play with Pamela Kellino.

Good point, but still, couldn't he have been caught another way as taking the body feels forced and contra to his plan.

This guy's hardly the kindly, caring and decent country doctor - he's a bitter, selfish man.

This guy's hardly the kindly, caring and decent country doctor - he's a bitter, selfish man. True. The irony is that Mason, despite having just become a murderer, is actually a more compassionate doctor than the old guy.
