William Powell all day today! Love the whole lineup but I think my favorite is MY MAN GODFREY 1936. Powell played both dramatic and comic in this character.

Ida Lupino is the Summer Star today.
My favorite on today's TCM schedule, is DEVOTION 1946 - a story about the Bronte sisters.
With Olivia De Havilland and Paul Henreid also.

Today's Summer Star is John Wayne.
The first film during prime time this evening is THE SONS OF KATIE ELDER 1965 - my favorite on TCM's schedule for today! No guess why - Dean Martin stars along side the Duke in this story about four brothers!
I have more information about this movie on my Dean Martin thread.
Hope you'll tune in with me and enjoy!

So I did some research and found the music that is so great in the TCM Summer Under The Stars promo.
It's from LEISURE and it's called BACK IN LOVE.
Hope you like it too!

Been busy today so I'll have to watch my favorite Julie Andrews movie from today's schedule, on the TCM Library - it'll be on there until August 18th. TORN CURTAIN 1966 directed by Alfred Hitchcock was the one I was looking forward to on Julie's day for being the Summer Star. Julie stars along side Paul Newman in this one.

April 6th is Gordon MacRae day.
I have not seen OKLAHOMA! (8pm ET) in years (I think maybe since I was a kid!), so I am looking forward to this film the most today.

I'm with you sagebrush! OKLAHOMA! 1955 is the movie on today's TCM schedule that I'm looking forward to also! It's a great Rodgers and Hammerstein musical - and you're so right sagebrush - it hasn't been shown for ages!
Gordon MacRae shines as today's Summer Star - along with Shirley Jones, Rod Steiger, James Whitmore, Eddie Albert and the wonderful Gloria Grahame (who is so excellent in this part!).
Curly and Laurey falling in love.
Ado Annie and her two guys!
Meet you in OKLAHOMA this evening!

August 8th is Eleanor Powell day!
Of course, I'm partial to THE BROADWAY MELODY OF 1940 , but there is a great Eleanor dance in all of the pictues being shown today, and she usually choreographed her own solos.
Watch for the wonderful hotel room dance she performs with a dog in LADY BE GOOD, and an insanely syncopated routine she does with Buddy Rich on a ship deck in SHIP AHOY!
