Daisy: A foolish virgin, me, well... foolish anyway.
Poor Daisy, how awkward it all is for her.

I don't want to know....
slight pause
Who is she?
I couldn't have lasted that long / those few seconds
Her sad purring voice is killing me.

The role of Daisy Sage almost went to Irene Dunne. That's interesting. I don't know that I'd have liked her in this role.

Yes, she said it so fast I almost didn't hear the title line. What a great scene for her , broken hearted but trying to be casual and funny.

Loy's gal pal is played by Ilka Chase. She was a novelist in addition to actress.

Wikipedia:
"Cold enough to freeze the balls off (or on) a brass monkey" is a colloquial expression used by some English speakers to describe extremely cold weather.
The reference to the testes (as the term balls is commonly understood to mean) of the brass monkey appears to be a 20th-century variant on the expression, prefigured by a range of references to other body parts, especially the nose and tail.

The role of Daisy Sage almost went to Irene Dunne. That's interesting. I don't know that I'd have liked her in this role. Harding was always the first choice. But she had a scheduling conflict, so the studio decided to give it to Dunne. But then Leslie Howard was delayed doing retakes at MGM for SMILIN' THROUGH. By the time Howard was available, Harding had become available. So Dunne was removed from the film and Harding was put back into the role of Daisy.

She tells him what to do then says "I've nothing to do with it." Oh boy, she's a piece of work.
