The Dick Van Dyke Show {CBS} Peyton Place {ABC} Bewitched {ABC} That Girl {ABC} The Carol Burnett Show {CBS} Marlo was cute as hell in That Girl. Somebody mentioned Get Smart. That one has really held up over the years. I love all the movie references and the catch phrases. "MIssed it by that much!" Not to mention Hymie the robot and the great character actors. The Cone of Silence...

I don't recall what my favorites may have been when I watched them first run back in the 60s. But, based upon what television shows from that decade that I occasionally still enjoy watching now, my current favorites would be:
Hogan's Heroes (I have the complete series on DVD.) Mannix (Ditto for this one.) Mission: Impossible Star Trek The Dick Van Dyke Show
And I know we are supposed to limit ourselves to five, but I feel compelled to give an honorable mention to The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour.

Not ready to make a list yet but there is a site called TV party. Com that has lots of info including a series about the houses used in sitcoms through the decades of tv. Unfortunately it's not a secure site so not sure I would want to post anything there or register on it. What Happened to the Classic Sitcom Houses is the series.

Nobody watched The Monkees?
I should have remembered The Monkees for my list. I never missed the show during its first run in the 60s; its zany humor really appealed to me, and I loved their music. The first record I ever bought — which I still have — was the 45rpm single of “Daydream Believer/Goin’ Down.”
As the Beatles and Dylan replaced the Monkees as my favorite recording artists, I kept buying Monkees albums but listened to them less. After the group broke up in the early 70s, I didn’t listen to their music again for about thirty years (with my old albums stored in my parents’ basement). When I ran across a 2-CD compilation around 2000, I decided to give them another try and found that their music held up surprisingly well, easily comparable to some of the better 60s artists, even if not at the level of the Beatles or Dylan. I saw the surviving members of the Monkees in 2013 (Micky, Mike, Peter) and 2021 (Micky, Mike) and enjoyed the shows very much. (I also saw Mike Nesmith’s shows a couple times; he was a very creative guy.)

I was hoping someone would reply, "Hymie the robot?" so I could say, "I asked you not to mention Hymie the robot."
But yes the Cone of Silence is always a fun bit.

That song is certainly ear-wormable, although it was Nancy Ames who sang it on the American version of the show.

Speaking of ROUTE 66, I sort of lost interest when George Maharis (Buz Murdock) left the show. He was great. Also, I just checked and he's still alive at age 90.
