Dale Evans had been a supporting contract player at 20th Century Fox, utilized mostly in musical comedies, before she moved over to Republic Pictures. At Republic she was given opportunities to do leading roles. During this time she met her future husband Roy Rogers. COWBOY AND THE SENORITA was their first costarring venture, and they were a hit together with audiences. But they didn't get married until after they made HOME IN OKLAHOMA two years later, which was filmed on location at the Flying L Ranch in Davis, OK.
