I know it's Hollywood given, but Gale Storm is possibly my favorite female name of all time. It's just such a good name. She wasn't tough to look at either.

I agree, she looks like a real person and a nice person who made it in Hollywood, but could truly be your next-door neighbor. I had neighbors who looked like her and, say, Priscilla Lane, nobody in my neighborhood looked like Rita Hayworth or Grace Kelly - those women exited only on Planet Hollywood. As a little boy in the 1970s who fell in love with "old movies" watching them on a 1950s B&W TV when local stations showed them late at night or on Sat/Sun afternoon, I always wanted to look like Errol Flynn. Now in my fifties, I feel that "young me's" choice has held up pretty well. I knew nothing about his "wolf-like" lifestyle back then, I just thought he look like a cool, fun and happy guy.

If I were a guy, I would like to look like Errol Flynn, too! I like the way he just looks like he enjoys the outdoors.

Interesting read for me, Fading Fast: I knew about the little boy and his contemporary movies with my 1970s thread, but not the other one who precociously embraced the earlier Hollywood.

That's when my love of "old movies" started, watching them as a kid on local TV stations in the 1970s. I didn't even fully understand them at first, but something about their style, the times, the culture - just the aura of them - spoke to me even when I was in grammar school.
