Guinnevere would have been great. I love to think of teachers doing roll call on that one. >One or both of us would end up off key, then we would make each other laugh. Did you manage to get any of that on tape or film sagebrush? I envy those smart enough to have captured their childhood antics. My sister made us all do a dance routine to Simon & Garfunkel's "Cecelia" for the neighbours. Aye me. Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 - Mas Que Nada (1966) We did record ourselves on a few occasions to critique our efforts, but we always taped over them. Years later. however, my husband (then just a boyfriend) and I went into one of those recording booths they have at amusement parks and recorded "A Whole New World" from ALADDIN. He performed his part very tongue-in-cheek, kind of talk-singing it like Rex Harrison did in MY FAIR LADY. He was making me laugh and I found it hard to stay focused. I was kind of irritated with him, because I took it seriously and wanted a solid recording. I still have that tape cassette, and I'm glad now that he performed it like he did because it makes me laugh to the point of tears in my eyes!

I love live performances and this is one of my favorites (Webster Hall, NYC). I was glad to see Della Reese have a late-in-life career as an actress but always wished there had been more opportunities for her to sing.
And this album has tons of memories for me. As a kid, my parents had it as a 45 RPM album set, which was a thing for a brief window of time when RCA was pushing 45-only players to teenagers to play their Elvis singles on. I probably listened to this more than my parents did. Lena's still one of my all-time faves.

Yes indeed! Dad Ozzy did the double exposure editing on the last 1/3 of that "Travelin' Man" film clip, which many do claim it was an early precursor of the modern music video. Sepiatone

So Ozzy did have a job, after all? As opposed to sitting on the couch and doing nothing. In addition to being an early precursor of the modern music video, Ozzy was also one of an early example of a remote employee.

While we're on the subject of Roberta Flack, The Fugees did a great cover of "Killing Me Softly" in 1996.

You also mentioned "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" too. Earliest recording was by Canadian folk singer BONNIE DOBSON in 1961, but I can't find any clip of her recording. But I found this...
Gordon Lightfoot(1966)
The song was composed by British political activist singer/songwriter EWAN MacCOLL in 1957 for PEGGY SEEGER(Pete's half sister) with whom he was having an affair. And was also earlier recorded by.....
