Though they took their time getting around to using the title of Richard Matheson's 1954 novel, TopBilled, it's safe in observing that The Last Man on Earth (1964) remains truest to Matheson's I AM LEGEND.

You really couldn't get three more different leading men if you tried...Vincent Price, Charlton Heston and Will Smith. TopBilled, I wonder if Vincent Price fans were a bit surprised by the tone of The Last Man on Earth: There's some witchy yield, but I don't recall any intentional campiness.
