I'm getting my annual Shamrock shake this weekend. It 's aggressively green, minty, nostalgic goodness. I'ma get a hugh jass bottle of Jameson and drunk post. And I'm here for it. πΈπΊπΉ

Reubens on homemade Rye bread. Like it better on Pumpernickel.

I think Reubens are my favorite sandwich. Never had them before I got this new breadmaker a couple of months ago. These were my 2nd attempt. Both have been good, but still tweeking sauce.

Both have been good, but still tweeking sauce. We had a bread maker years ago but for some reason we never used much and ending up giving it away. I've made a few different kinds of bread at home the old fashioned way. Homemade rye and pumpernickel sound fantastic. My favorite to make is olive bread which is less for sandwiches and more to go along with things like homemade soup. I'm hungry now...

We had a bread maker years ago but for some reason we never used much and ending up giving it away. Bought a breadmaker years ago too & used it until I started getting traveller sized loaves. Used to make bread by hand before that until a back injury made it difficult. Thought it was something I was doing wrong and tried all kinds of things. Recently saw a post in another forum about a member buying a new one and it finally dawned on me that just maybe it was the machine and not me. Bought a high end version of the poster's brand and have been happily trying all kinds of breads now.

Reubens on homemade Rye bread. Like it better on Pumpernickel. I do feel rye is the right bread for a reuben, but I'm very happy to see someone else likes pumpernickel.
I LOVE it!
One of my favorite sandwiches -- chevre (cream cheese if you have to) and cherry preserves on pumpernickel. Just do it.

today I'm gonna make myself up a mess of spaghetti for sunday dinner. will use a one pound box of Barilla thin spaghetti noodles and a jar of Tuttorosso pasta sauce. We're having goulash. Not something that you'd think for summertime but it 's one of my favorites. I've taken the day off to fix projects around the house so I think I've earned it, dammit. ππΊ How's about you, Nipkowdisc? (Or anyone else)

(Or anyone else) A few years back after the wife and I went to Europe and had some great goulash, I started making it. I make it in a slow cooker and thus it is easy; Mix of different colored bell peppers, lots of onions, Paprika and beef (I use chuck or tri-tip cut into 4 inch cubes) and a can of chopped tomatoes). Start it around noon and it is ready to go by dinner time.

Goulash - instant visions of Felix (SZ Sakall) in the kitchen with Nora Christmas in Connecticut (1945). π Ha! I thought the same thing!
"That's good old Irish stew, that is."
[Felix adds paprika.]
"Now it's goulash."
