I'm watching Vincent Price's day on SUTS and loving it.
Is HIS KIND OF WOMAN noir? I think it has all the elements to be noir. But Vincent's part of the story kinda suggests "no". He doesn't detract from the story-sign of a great actor-performing seriously a silly part. In another actor's hands, the role would detract from the story.
So, does this remove HIS KIND OF WOMAN from the noir category?

So, does this remove HIS KIND OF WOMAN from the noir category? Most books on Film Noir list HKOW. The film has all sorts of noir themes, some niffy visuals and iconic noir actor Robert Mitchum. Price's performance is fantastic. The film is edited in a way so that scenes that build a lot of tension between Mitchum and the hoods, is then released by cutting to scenes with Price.
