except for Fraser Heston I can't think of any other surviving cast members other than Debra Paget to THE TEN COMMANDMENTS...Debra and Vincent Price would reunite in The Haunted Palace. Before that Debra starred in the very silly but lots-of-fun Princess of the Nile (1954) and I've always been curious about its history. Wiki references a 1953 New York Times article in which Twentieth Century-Fox announced that Prince Valiant and Princess of the Nile were to be filmed in their new CinemaScope process, and separately that Princess was intended for Marilyn Monroe and Tyrone Power. Obviously, that never happened and the project was apparently downgraded. It was filmed on the Fox lot as a B picture, in a 1:66 aspect ratio, with Debra, Jeffrey Hunter and Michael Rennie, but the release print is attributed to Panoramic Productions ( Who?) in the titles, though Twentieth Century-Fox is listed in smaller print on the end title card. Fox must have decided mid-stream to distance itself from the movie, maybe because by that time they'd made a big public vow that all future Fox releases would be filmed in CinemaScope, hoping to nudge any reluctant theater owners into converting their theaters. Also, by that time Fox had committed to the big-budget The Egyptian (1954) and couldn't have two Egyptian movies out at the same time. It's an interesting example of a movie being caught up in internal studio politics at a time of big change. But, thankfully, what we're left with is this. (It also includes a dance from Bird of Paradise (1951). This one's for you, Nip:
