Things seem to have changed today - the message board is requiring users to log in to see any of the posts. (For me, anyway.)
Many times I would just browse new messages without logging in, and only log in if I wanted to post something, but it appears that is no longer possible.
This change may also reduce traffic from casual viewers overall since they would need to have an account. You also won't be able to sample the message board ahead of time to see what it is all about before deciding to join.
Not sure where the decision to make this change was made - was it done by freeforums.net?

I suspect this was done to require 'guest' to have to log in due to them being overly aggressive. Now the better option would have been to allow 'guest' to browse messages, but not be able to post anything, but that would be more complex than just requiring all users to log in. While I'm not throwing-under-the-bus any actual 'guest' that have used this forum, it is my experience at other forums that they tend to be more aggressive (troll like?).

I agree that "guests" should be able to read the forum.
But not post. That privilege should be for members only.
