My review of The Last Voyage of the Demeter

I watched it tonite on my laptop and became disappointed and did not watch the whole thing. the first thing which soon becomes irritating is the makers decided for no other reason than I can fathom other than political correctness to devote alotta screen time to the film's one lone token black sailor on the Demeter. later on when a comatose sickly woman is found below deck the black sailor who attended the university of cambridge performs a blood transfusion. marvey. this character has absolutely nothing to do with the chapter of the stoker novel that it is based on. nothing. but what really turned me off to the film was the gore. a sailor sees the nosferatu dracula on the deck then suddenly the creature leaps and begins to have him for dinner. that's when I stopped watching it. it then quickly became apparent to me what this film is. the makers wanted to make an Alien-like knock-off so they used a chapter from the bram stoker classic. the creature is only briefly seen for an instant thanks to some lightning flashes. no thanks unsatisfactory.
