I will post the full schedule when I get some time this weekend.
This is Ava Gardner's third time as TCM's Star of the Month. She was previously honored in 1997 and 2010.

I wish they had included ON THE BEACH (1959). Not only are she, Gregory Peck and Anthony Perkins good in it, but it also has a good dramatic performance from Fred Astaire.

Very good call - Looks like TCM is adding On the Beach (1959) to follow The Great Sinner (1949) on the 29th. Together with The Snows of Kilimanjaro there will be 3 Gregory Peck - Ava Gardner films that evening.

They didn't show Pandora and the Flying Dutchman for James Mason this past month and now they're not showing it for Ava. Too bad. They must have realized these actors were back-to-back, so it would seem like an obvious choice for one of the months. Has anyone ever seen The Naked Maja? It doesn't seem to get shown and I'm very curious about it.

I can't think of any actress that looked as beautiful as Ava, filmed in color, as she did in this film.

It's an overblown historical romance, perfect for people who enjoy watching paint dry. Great production values, a top director at the helm, but it is still quite lifeless and it's easy to see why it did not do well with audiences.

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I'm not feeling as deprived, though I'll probably take any opportunity to check it out.

Planned to watch The Killers last night on TCM and it was blacked out. From time to time, if you receive TCM via a streaming service (I use SlingTV) for some reason, various films are unavailable for viewing. It was a real bummer because I live just a few miles from where Ava Gardner grew up here in North Carolina, and wanted to show my support but alas, I shall hope to catch a few additional films when they air Thursday nights in December.

I tried to watch the live stream as well and got the blocking message. Later on I noticed The Killers was available on WatchTCM, and I was able to watch it on demand.
It seems strange that TCM would block the live stream and then allow it to be streamed later, normally both would be blocked. Not sure if SlingTV gives you any access to watchTCM, but check it out if you can.

Unfortunately, with SlingTV, you don't have access to WatchTCM. It asks you to select a cable provider and SlingTV isn't listed as an option.

Too bad they couldn't have slipped in "The Band Wagon" with her cameo appearance.
Funny thing about Ava Gardner -- and it's probably peculiar to just me -- but I never seem to realize all the movies she was in. She was a beauty and could act pretty well in many things, but I just don't think of her at the level that her reputation puts her. I know I'm wrong on this, but that's the way it is. And I certainly enjoy watching the films when they're on. So I'm always in for a treat.

One good thing about these month-long retrospectives is you get the chance to re-examine a star's work...and you can re-evaluate their legacy and impact.
