Hello again Lawrence's & classicfilmtvradio forum, I just discovered a Reddit thread "Turner Classic Movie Board Closes" and somebody recommended both this forum and the SSO. Free advertising! Anyway, maybe you'll get new traffic here. LawrenceA, another poster said that he/she tried to sign up for SSO around XMas but never heard back. I know you post here and there so maybe you could pass it along. Happy New year all!

I looked at SSO after someone spelled out what it was. I have fun here because of the music section.

Well at SSO it is easier to post music then it is here; While I know how to do it, (since a few users here have said how this can be done), I just haven't gotten around to posting music. But I do read all the post and make a comment from time to time.

I appreciate being able to post as a "Guest" here. Can't do that at SSO. Reading over there to my post about a Reddit user saying they haven't heard back after trying to register at SSO, the moderator said it probably went to junk/spam. Too bad, new people will quickly give up if it's too hard to use or if the powers that be seem indifferent to new (or trying to be new) members.
In this way, this forum is more user friendly. 👍

Yeah, I've noticed some feisty back and forth over there including a strangely heated debate over a "like" button.

What surprises me is the lack of discussion about movies, especially studio era ones. E.g. the thread that got the most traffic after all the ex-TCM newbies joined was the "like button" one, by a mile. I find more discussions about movies and music at this forum even with less than 1\4 of the SSO users.

I don't see much discussion per se, or maybe I'm just not taking part in them, but it's nice to have an outlet to post whatever I'm watching or reading or listening to.
I haven't peeked in at SSO but your observation comes to me as no surprise. I do hope this site blooms into a broader forum for the arts in general, including things that might be more current, with more viewpoints and tastes. There are some good things out there now in all the arts.

No one is saying "this is not how we do things over here, new members. Stop trying to change things, dagnabbit!".

(A friendly jab at SSO)
