TCM has posted a partial schedule for September, 2023. Dirk Bogarde is Star of the Month (his first time). Additional details are available at my schedule information page: escapepress.com/tcmsched/tcm_overview.html

How did I miss this...it's been such a busy week.
I am really excited about this. Love Dirk Bogarde...so many quality films, what an amazing film career he had.
Plus it's nice to see TCM show a bit of love to British stars.

So glad to see 4 Dean Martin films coming up in September - Rio Bravo 1959, Marriage On The Rocks 1965, Some Came Running 1958 and Bells Are Ringing 1960. I mentioned them on my Dean Martin thread but just thought I would advertise them here too. LOL
Also looking forward to the Sunday that Hitchcock's movies will be on!

No "This month on TCM" on-air montage.
Here's TCM's write up of SOTM Dirk Bogarde, though:

Don't apologize, Christine. I love the enthusiasm for your fave actor. I'm a stick in the mud, afraid to show how enthusiastic I am for a couple of actors. Silly of me to try to have some constrained attitude. I watched Dino's films this month I love MARRIAGE ON THE ROCKS. The great Deborah Kerr also. Your enthusiasm is what gets people to check out what you are talking about and increase the love for these films and the actors in them.

Ditto what Kims said.
If someone is enthusiastic about a movie or actor, it will capture my attention as you wonder what is it about the movie or role that made the person so passionate about the picture or the actor.

My understanding is that this is a general thread related a specific month and what TCM will be featuring that month. Of course, part of what TCM will be featuring in a month is often the Star of the Month. BUT this thread was never limited to only the SOTM.

I think some may be over-analyzing my previous comment. It wasn't a scolding. I was humorously commenting that she is giving Dean Martin films more attention that others may be giving to Dirk Bogarde's films.
I used to do that too. If one of my favorite performers (like Ruth Roman) had a bunch of films scheduled in a month, even if they were randomly there and not even part of a theme or tribute, I focused on those and paid little attention to what TCM was promoting that month. It's a fun thing to do.
Anyway, the 'LOL' at the end of my previous comment should have indicated my comment was meant in jest.

Thanks for the comments! I do love my Dean Martin and it is true that when a months schedule comes out that is the first thing I check.
I have adored him since I was 8 years old (many years ago),and have researched him and his life and have so enjoyed doing it.
I do love TCM for much more though - I love learning about people behind the camera also. The people who made Hollywood what it was in the 20th century are amazing talents to me.
So I'm just going to keep enjoying! Hope everyone else does too!

I'm happy about Sunday's (tomorrow's) TCM schedule. There are Hitchcock movies scheduled from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (central time).
Hitchcock is one of my favorite directors along with Wilder, Hawks, Minnelli and Ford. I feel he had a great talent for selecting his actors along with every other detail in his films.
The 39 Steps and Vertigo are a couple of my favorites (even though I never met a Hitchcock film I didn't like).
One of the reasons I am so pulled into Vertigo each time I watch it is because of Kim Novak. She seems to always bring such vulnerability to her characters which is enchanting.
A few years ago, I think September of 2019, TCM did a Spot Light - Sundays With Hitch. That was enjoyable. This September they're giving us one Sunday with Hitch - so enjoy!
