I don't have a problem with 5 hosts. I wonder if they write their own material. They have other gigs. I doubt they're full-time employees. Each one seems to host the movies that they're an expert at. Also what about the optics. Black woman, vwhite woman, Jewish man, homosexual. Who goes first?

And the news on TCM continues, this time with the announcement that Scorsese, Spielberg and PTA will help curate TCM. Story Here.

Was there any confirmation (whatever that means) of the reports that 70 of the 90 employees at TCM were let go, as that still seems crazy to me if they truly intend to keep the station running?

An insider reported those numbers to a news outlet, I forget which one. I don't believe they have been officially confirmed. Also, in this most recent article I attached, it mentions that WB is increasing TCM's content investment by 30%. Part of the increased investment will go toward licensing new films. What do we think that means? They are going to be licensing films to other networks for distribution and release on physical media or they are licensing films from other studios like Paramount and Columbia to show on TCM?

I took it to mean renting more film to show on TCM, but I see your point. Even if it means licensing to other networks, if it brings in revenue, that could help.

With people cutting the cable cord at an accelerated rate, not just TCM is cutting back. Disney/ABC/ESPN (same company), have just cut 20 on air personalities and 7,000 jobs in an effort to save $5.5 billion.

By the way, those of you who still have cable/Directv/Dish, if ESPN is on your service, you are paying close to $7 a month whether you watch it or not. That's part of why people are abandoning this obsolete business plan.
