Thanks for elaborating. I don't watch Halmark but I do remember reading that that Candace Cameron left the channel. I found this from Variety: " In June 2021, the network, originally tilted Great American Country (GAC), was acquired by GAC Media, a group formed by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott and Hicks Equity Partners. In the fall of that year, the network was relaunched as GAC Family. (Abbott stepped down from Hallmark Media in 2020, shortly after the network faced backlash for pulling a Zola ad featuring a same-sex couple.) Under GAC Media, Great American Country changed to “GAC Family” and later to “Great American Family” — the title they have gone by since August 2022. The channel became similar in content to what Abbott had created at Hallmark, including original made-for-TV movies, holiday programming and big franchises. However, it also focuses more heavily on faith-driven programming." I have found that the best way to determine how conversative (or not), a network is, is based on their commercials. E.g., if one sees the My Pillow guy, they are conversative. Like all companies that cater to the general public, they need to be as neutral as possible. I don't know if that is still possible. If a company doesn't cater to one 'segment' it can backfire since both 'sides' are so overly sensitive. Yes! The My Pillow Guy is a sure sign of a conservative show. Just like you can tell the demographics of a show by the ads. Network evening news has prescription ads for older people, Wimbledon has ads for luxury cars and watches that I never seen anywhere else. However, my wife was watching old reruns of Eight is Enough on Roku and kept getting car ads in Spanish. Not quite sure what to make of that. Are there large population of non English-speakers watching Dick Van Patten?

E.g., INSP or Grit TV which show a lot of 50s\60s western. The spokeswoman quotes Tomas Paine, talks about "these times" etc. I.e., a lot of vague political type statements that sound like they were designed to appeal to the MAGA crowd. Maybe I'm reading too much into these commercials, but I find what they are pushing a very odd way to sell car repair insurance. Love that Dick Van Patten, crack. I assume his son Vince is more relevant today, but than I'm a Texas Holdem fan.

I'll have to pay more attention next time I see a Car Shield ad, using Tomas Paine quotes does sound like it's trying to send a "patriotic" vibe. Another ad that only pops up on conservative networks is the one telling people to buy gold as an investment. Our local radio station also plays one for a service stock piling food for the upcoming zombie or liberal apocolypse, or whatever. They come in unmarked boxes so your neighbors won't storm your house when the sh*t hits the fan. I did not know about Vince Van Patten. Interesting. I noticed on certain HBO shows like the Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire the name Timothy Van Patten listed as director. I assumed that was Dick's son but he's his half-brother. So, jamesjazzguitar, how your poker game?

So, jamesjazzguitar, how your poker game? My poker game is above average. I work in IT and with statisticians and years ago one guy assisted me with a fairly simple way to calculate the odds, which since so many cards are 'shared', is part of the strategy with T-holdem. When I play with friends that host parties, the hardest part is dealing with newbies. They tend to stay in the game instead of folding when they are not in the small or big blind. Thus, even if the odds are 2-1 in one's favor if you face 3 newbies with those odds, odds are you will lose one and be out. So I have to remember to fold (unless I have a very good hand), until the newbies are out of the game.

I feel sorry for whoever the new President is. We are a divided country.
You comment about how divided we are. Then in the very next post, you insult a person's political belief, which is precisely the source of the division.
If you think we are divided, why not try to help rather than make matters worse ?

How. No matter what evidence comes out about Trump or Biden there will still be loyal followers. Both have made statements that show a cocky attitude.

I wonder if those groups of loyal followers are shrinking. I personally don't know anyone who wants these two guys to run again. I think one thing people can do is to become informed. Look at who else is running, especially if you live in a state with an early primary or caucus. While the Democrats don't seem to have a viable alternative to Biden, there must be a Republican who can challenge Trump and talk to people who are tired of the vitriol. Talk about issues that are important to everyone. A pundit on a Sunday morning news show today said it is certainly possible for Trump to be on trial during the election or even during the early days of his 2nd administration, if he were to win. This would be bad for our country, no matter what party you support.

Did you think only Republicans felt that?

I think God will be harder on Biden than Trump. bearing false witness. In a Trump debate Biden said Hunter didn't have any connection with China but Joe also claimed he knew nothing about Hunter's business dealing.(so which of the statements are correct, he either didn't know if Trump was telling the truth about China, which meant he lied in the debate or he was lying about knowledge about Hunter) A lawyer should be more careful with their wording. Now that Hunter plead guilty. If you pay close attention to wording Hunter when talking about the laptop chose his words carefully (like could have been stolen). He's a lawyer to. If it was Russian disinformation like the spies who signed the letter implied. (Why did he imply it could have been stolen instead of agreeing with the spies) Have you ever heard the term sin by omission? Hunter didn't do anything to stop the misconception of Russian misinformation. A good example is the movie Great Expectations. (About a lawyer being careful with his wording)

Did you see the interview on Fox of Trump by Brett Baier? Baier was clearly miffed how often Trump lied.
