Feel free to post anything that chaps your hide, any personal or political buggaboos or beefs. Maybe we can corral them in one thread rather than have a bunch of individuals threads. And ... go!

In honor of Nipkowdisc, I'll start off with a political one. I'm tired of voting against candidates rather than for them. I'm looking at you 2024. I'm hoping for something other than Biden vs Trump. I can dream, at least.

Non-political one: Samaras aka helicopter or whirlybird seeds. Our neighbor's giant maple tree vomits thousands of these damn things on our house every spring. They clog our gutters, get imbedded in our lawn and garden, we track them into the house. They are everywhere. And any of these beauties that we fail to sweep or rake up will turn into a forest of unwanted seedlings. There are so many that I use our snow shovel to scoop them up.

Surely, we can find two better people to run in 2024. Maybe someone not under indictment and someone not turning 80 while in office? I'd be open to a viable 3rd party candidate but that's not very likely.

How should I handle this? I wanted to buy a meal deal at a grocery store. You have to get all items for the discount but they forgot to order fried rice. I talked to the manager and asked for a discount. We went to customer service, and he told them 8 $. I thought I should have gotten more off, so I studied the receipt. The meal deal including everything was 28$.I was charged 36$.

Why do WOKE CEO's lie. I was reading an article about the Hallmark CEO. The fans were upset about no more Mystery 101 movies, which had a cliffhanger endding. She tried to change the subject and talk about a different series. The reporter wrote that the CEO said Hallmark decided against more movies, but the reporter wrote that Jill Wagner has been in movies for GAC Hallmark's rival. It's no secret that both networks are fighting over talent.

I feel sorry for whoever the new President is.We are a divided country. That's why I'm hoping for someone other than Biden/Trump. A rehash of The Donald would certainly divide our country even more. I'd like two sensible, dare I say, even boring people running in 2024. Let's talk about stuff that is important to everyone like the economy and not stuff for sound bites and click bait.

It used to be known for being family friendly but another more conservative channel came and some of their actors left.

It used to be known for being family friendly but another more conservative channel came and some of their actors left. Thanks for elaborating. I don't watch Halmark but I do remember reading that that Candace Cameron left the channel. I found this from Variety: " In June 2021, the network, originally tilted Great American Country (GAC), was acquired by GAC Media, a group formed by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott and Hicks Equity Partners. In the fall of that year, the network was relaunched as GAC Family. (Abbott stepped down from Hallmark Media in 2020, shortly after the network faced backlash for pulling a Zola ad featuring a same-sex couple.) Under GAC Media, Great American Country changed to “GAC Family” and later to “Great American Family” — the title they have gone by since August 2022. The channel became similar in content to what Abbott had created at Hallmark, including original made-for-TV movies, holiday programming and big franchises. However, it also focuses more heavily on faith-driven programming."

E.g., if one sees the My Pillow guy, they are conversative. Like all companies that cater to the general public, they need to be as neutral as possible. I don't know if that is still possible. If a company doesn't cater to one 'segment' it can backfire since both 'sides' are so overly sensitive.
