...actually, just the bad...
A combo of your HUNTER drop and a series seemingly suited to a pair of your television tastes - Dr.QUINN MedicineWoman (read: medicine and westerns), TopBilled, got me thinking about a, I think, TV GUIDE issue which had a "good and the bad" of television actors/actresses as they related to others on their respective sets as polled by key grips and such... Perhaps for its shock value - for lack of a better description, I only recall most of the ones who showed up on the ugly list which, if I correctly recall, included Fred Dryer and Jane Seymour.

When was this article published in TV Guide?
I do like Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman though it's been awhile since I've seen any episodes.
Hunter is still one of my favorite crime series. Fred Dryer probably gained too much power behind the scenes. I think Stepfanie Kramer felt as if the stories in her last year were lacking or at least the big scenes were written more to give Fred the spotlight. However, Stepfanie was also in the process of getting married and wanting to leave acting for awhile...so she actually left on good terms.
But her immediate replacement, Darlanne Fluegel, clashed with Dryer. And as a result of this friction, Fluegel's contract was terminated in the middle of the season (her cop character was abruptly killed off in the line of duty). So the remaining episodes of that final season required a quick recast, and Lauren Lane was brought in. Lane would go on to make a name for herself in the sitcom The Nanny.

I can't recall if it even was a TV GUIDE for sure, TopBilled, but I can see why you would ask: Their runs did not overlap, though there was a HUNTER reunion which occurred during a period of Dr.QUINN MedicineWoman's original broadcasts. Perhaps only one of those two made the nefarious list that also included Jack Klugman if I correctly remember.
