You said it, Tina. You were simply the best. RIP dear lady. We shall miss you so.

The song "Tonight" was recorded as a duet with Tina on David Bowie's Tonight album and he returned the favor by guesting on her 1985 tour to do the song live with her. God bless you, Tina.

Look at what she could still do in 2009 at age 70. My God, woman. You can absolutely feel the energy she was able to bring out of that huge crowd. A total original and, now, one for the history books.

She was a vocal and stage performing powerhouse. Another one of a kind performer I feel blessed to have been able to see, hear and enjoy.
You've earned your rest Tina.

"As news of the death of Tina Turner hit Australia’s shores, people all over the country stopped what they were doing and started to dance.
School students, gym rats, TikTokers and even the staff at the United States Embassy paid tribute with a series of steps and kicks that looked like a cross between line dancing and the Macarena, set to one of Ms. Turner’s songs, “Nutbush City Limits.”
She did not perform these moves with the song. But somehow — and no one is quite sure how — the dance, the Nutbush, has become so widespread in Australia that it is sometimes called the country’s unofficial national dance"

I was going to post this in the Duets thread, but then figured it belongs here. Rod Stewart asked Tina to duet with him on his hit "Hot Legs" on SNL and the night before invited her onstage at his live show. Tina was still struggling for a foothold so it was a nice boost. She later incorporated the song into her own act. (Who better to do it?) She was already reshaping her image; the hair was half-way to what it would later become post-Private Dancer in 1983.

Great video Get Back & Hot Legs. Did atoms get some hairdressing inspiration from Rod?

Great video Get Back & Hot Legs. Did atoms get some hairdressing inspiration from Rod? And maybe some hair inspiration from Mick Jagger as well? She opened some shows for The Stones on their 1981 tour. And Mick made no secret of the inspiration he took from the way she moved when Ike and Tina opened some shows for them in 1969; he admits he studied her closely and he still stalks the stage and moves the way she did. The movie Gimme Shelter has clips of Tina at their Madison Square Garden show before they went west for the Altamont Speedway disaster.
