Mayberry is probably the most famous one, right?
On Little House, most of the action took place in or around Walnut Grove.
I think the town where the Tates and Campbells lived in Soap was called Dunn's River.
Mary Hartman and the people she knew lived in Fernwood.
Can't remember which Virginia small towns the Walton family lived near...or how far they were from Richmond...anyone know?
On Gimme a Break! Nell Carter looked after the Kiniski family in a fictional California suburb called Glen Lawn.
Mama's Family took place in a fictional midwestern community called Raytown.
Feel free to add others!

Feel free to add others! How about the, I think, fictional Appleton, Iowa, where the Apple family relocated from Los Angeles for: ... You can read about the series' grist mill location here, TopBilled, a suggested site for info on Apple's Way creator Earl Hamner Jr.'s much more famous show: www.allaboutthewaltons.com/locations.php

Interesing NoShear. There's an Appleton, Wisconsin (my home state)...surprised he didn't set the show there.
On The Facts of Life Mrs. Garrett (Charlotte Rae) was said to be from Appleton, WI.
Speaking of the dairy state, Picket Fences was set in the fictional community of Rome, Wisconsin.

And while we're on the subject of quirky comedy-dramas from the 1990s, Northern Exposure was set in fictional Cicely, Alaska.

On the first seven or eight seasons of My Three Sons, the Douglas family lived in the fictional small town of Bryant Park. Their address, which was stated on the show, was 832 Mill Street.

Well, in Lincoln Park(not a fictional city, but where I live) there is an actual Mill Street, and therefore no doubt an actual 832 Mill Street. I now wonder if the people living at that address at the time the show was running heard that address being mentioned and got a kick out of it. I tried to find out the name of the town THE REAL McCOYS lived in, but all I could find is they lived in the San Fernando valley. Sepiatone

Some fictional towns in undisclosed midwestern states include:
The Cleavers live in Mayfield in Leave It to Beaver (1957-1963).
The Andersons live in Springfield in Father Knows Best (1954-1960). (The Simpsons also live in Springfield, as an homage.)
The Stones live in Hilldale in The Donna Reed Show (1958-1966).

I thought to enter the "fictional" town of "Bugtussle", where the Clampetts hailed from, but for the heck of it, I dug in and found there's actual Bugtussles yet unincorporated in Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Arkansas. I think another is in Missouri. Sepiatone

Sepiatone, though no specific city was mentioned, I don't think there ever was a time when I didn't think the Brady family lived somewhere in the San Fernando Valley... news.yahoo.com/property-brothers-renovated-brady-bunch-130300239.html The asking price is made even more insane when considering the house was originally a modest one-story dwelling which is crammed up against a Los Angeles River channel and still lacks pool luxury to my knowledge.

Typing "The Real McCoys" in my search engine I'm taken to a page that provides(on the right side of the page) a link to the Wikipedia page for the show, but also just mentions; "The McCoys move from West Virginia to Northern California." But the Wiki article claims the show is set in the San Fernando Valley, which seems to be nowhere near Northern California. Sepiatone
