Daytime June 19 LGBTQ Icons I'm uncertain how many of these stars were really gay or how many just inspired imitation of their fashion sense across gender lines. Possibly both, in the cases of several. The 2015 documentary about Tab Hunter is also included. Millie (Helen Twelvetrees, Lilyan Tashman) (RKO, 1931) Man Wanted (Kay Francis, David Manners) (Warner Bros., 1932) They Live by Night (Cathy O'Donnell, Farley Granger) (RKO, 1948) Pitfall (Dick Powell, Lizabeth Scott) (United Artists, 1948) The Big Hangover (Van Johnson, Elizabeth Taylor) (MGM, 1950) Rancho Notorious (Marlene Dietrich, Arthur Kennedy) (RKO, 1952) Indiscretion of an American Wife (Jennifer Jones, Montgomery Clift) (Dist. in the US by Columbia, 1954) The Angel Wore Red (Ava Gardner, Dirk Bogarde) (Dist. in the US by MGM, 1960)

Good catch. I've noticed that TCM has been, here and there, sprinkling in a heavy day of precodes - as my DVR can attest to. It's nice as they seem committed to still showing them.

Daytime June 21 Let's Go to London I'm not putting the Fitzpatrick Travel Talk short Looking at London on the list, but just so you know it's also airing. Royal Wedding previously airs on the daytime spotlight on June Brides on the fifth, and A Hard Day's Night previously airs during the late night theme of rock stars on the 10th. I now count six non Noir-Alley films that are airing twice this month: The Women, Viva Las Vegas, Father of the Bride, Party Girl, Royal Wedding and A Hard Day's Night. Berkeley Square (Leslie Howard, Heather Angel) (Fox Film Corp., 1933) Journey for Margaret (Robert Young, Larraine Day) (MGM, 1942) Royal Wedding (Fred Astaire, Sarah Churchill) (MGM, 1951) The Time Machine (Rod Taylor, Yvette Mimieux) (MGM, 1960) The V.I.P.s (Elizabeeth Taylor, Richard Burton) (MGM, 1963) A Hard Day's Night (John Lennon, Paul McCartney) (Dist. in the US by United Artists, 1964) High Hopes (Phil Davis, Ruth Sheen) (Dist. in the US by Skouras Pictures, 1988)

Primetime June 21 Night Six of the Month-Long Hollywoodland Theme. It's all documentaries: one about Channel Z in Los Angeles, just about the first pay cable station in America famed for its eclectic lineup of "uncut and uncensored films" (sound familiar?); docs about Pauline Kael and Paul Robeson; a doc on soundies (a term I never heard befoe joining the TCM Message Boards); one on "yellowface"; and the final three chapters of the series on female directors.

I found TCM labeling the Judy Holliday tribute "Radio to Screen" somewhat confusing.
Three: Born Yesterday, Bells are Ringing and Solid Gold Cadillac are from Broadway, two starring Judy.
Phffft is an unproduced play.
Full of Life was written by the novel's author.
Maybe Stage to Screen would be more appropriate, but maybe I'm missing something?
