I know people who don't care for Spaghetti Westerns, saying the look and sound fake. I like them although, I wouldn't consider them the same as traditional westerns.
What is your opinion ? Do you like them ? Or not ? Why ?

I like them first viewing, but not motivated to watch again. They might be more realistic than American westerns, their villains seem nastier, the blood more gratuitous. Isn't it ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST with the closeup of Henry Fonda's eyes? I loved that. I think I've seen all the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns and enjoyed them.
I prefer the pre 1980 American westerns because I grew up with them-when we saw these as our national identity.
What I like best about the spaghetti westerns is How other nationalities see our old time west.

While I also enjoy studio-era westerns over the post-mid-60s-and-beyond "spaghetti" westerns, I do find a lot of things to like about them.
Clint Eastwood's screen persona was perfect for such westerns. As for supporting actors: there was only a few studio era actors, E.g. Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef, in the Eastwood ones, with most of the actors being Italian (duh). While there acting is fine, I don't have an emotional tie to them like I do the iconic western actors I see in the studio-era westerns and 50s\60s TV shows. I.e. I miss Jack Elam, Royal Dano, John Dehner, etc..
