Ronnie Spector duetted with Eddie Money on an album cut and single, "Take Me Home Tonight" in 1986. It's true that Ronnie was more window dressing than an actual partner in the song, but boy do I love to watch her move, so I'm posting a live clip from Letterman. Before The Ronettes hit big Murray the K called them his dancing girls and she never lost that touch. What an entrance.

Emmylou Harris was always in big demand to duet on other people's albums and has also done projects working exclusively with a single other artist, such as Mark Knopfler and Rodney Crowell. I love this duet with Mark; it's clever and it rocks really hard.
She's done a couple of albums with Rodney Crowell, mostly using material he's written. Age isn't kind to even the greatest voices and I think as she's gotten older she's found a value in the comfort of another voice. I'll always take Emmylou any way I can get her.
Emmylou has sung with Patty Griffin a number of times and, since they're two of my favorite singers, I'm asking your indulgence for one more cut.

Say what you will about Bette Midler (I'm a fan.) she had the balls to coax Bob Dylan to duet on a song from one of his best albums, Blood on the Tracks. On the subject of Dylan duets..... Sepiatone

Carly started singing with her sister Lucy as The Simon Sisters. The did a nice album of lullabies, which I eventually gave to a friend with young children.

And keeping with sisters doing duets.......
Saw these sisters open for John McLaughlin in '80. They played Gershwin's original two piano arrangement of "Rhapsody In Blue". And in the following duet, it's sister Katia with John McLaughlin.

The Rolling Thunder Revue is one of my favorite Dylan eras and this duet with Joan Baez is my favorite of the ones they did on that tour.

David Bowie and Mick Jagger covered Marvin Gaye's "Dancing in the Street" in 1985 to good effect -- it reached No. 1 on the UK charts and No. 7 on the US charts.

Boy I love that one - such a simple video but so memorable.
More duets with dancing.... Peter Lawford had an uncredited appearance in the Sunday melodrama today, Mrs. Miniver.
And so here he is singing and dancing to perfection I must say.

Peter Asher went on to a long career as a producer and arranger, but I remember him best for these glorious harmonies, the best since the Everlys in my opinion.

Speaking of the Everlys, they may have lost touch with each other at points over the years but their voices never lost touch. This is from 1986.
