Springsteen's singing on Brilliant Disguise reminds me a lot of Roy Orbison, emotionally speaking. Especially at the section that begins "so look at us, baby - struggling to do everything right" to the end of the track.

Springsteen probably gets more respect as a writer and live performer than he does as a singer, which is too bad. There's amazing falsetto work on this one. |
