Yes, it's 4PM in Ohio and my computer says the TCM forum is down. I guess they couldn't wait till midnight to shut us all out.

Not down for the count for new posts yet. Sometimes takes multiple refreshes, but still comes back for me right now.

Though I did not post on or belong to the TCM forum, I did read it from time to time. It seems to me that by closing the forum they destroyed a community and did the equivalent of burning a library with regards to the knowledge, threads, and conversation.
I don't think that the people who made the decision really understood or followed the forum. From looking at the TCM fan functions like festivals and cruises, I think that there is a sense of community among the fans due to interest in older and obscure films that you don't see happening with other cable channels. It was certainly their board to do with what they wanted, but I think killing it was a poor decision. I imagine it had to do with financials and bottom line and saving money.
Having said all that I am quite pleased with the wat that this board has taken off and is growing. Good work!

When I logged onto the TCM Message Board this morning at 10am, it showed that someone had posted just 1 minute ago, and several people before that were wondering why the Board was still alive. As I was looking at those posts, the Board flickered and then reloaded. The posts were still there, but no option for replying or starting a new topic. (Oddly, I could still respond to the posts via emojis.)
I guess that was the end of the TCM Board. I’m glad we all have a new place to gather and continue our discussions.

So Sad. I was on the death watch there often until late last night & early this morning. Had seen the last couple of posts in General Discussions about 10 AM CST, left the tab open and when I came back, saw there were no new posts. Didn't notice the missing New Topic or no Quotes to posts until you mentioned it. txfilmfan reported over at SSO that the Off Topics access is gone too.
I joined TCM in 2005, but only had about 64 posts before the shut-down notice. However, I visited General Discussions at least once daily. I'll always be a lightweight poster since I love to watch movies, but am not particularly motivated to dissect them. So glad TB created this haven.

I was on the TCM forums when they met their end. I feel so cold.......It's a minute to noon where I am. I got on the TCM boards, but too late to be able to post anything. And the "Off Topic" page is completely gone. Look on the forum listings and you won't find it listed. But all the others are. One difference here I notice from another proboards forum I'm on ("Talk Music") is that the other has a small box with an arrow pointing upwards on the right side that when you click on it you'll be taken to the top of the page. But I suppose I'll live. And nice seeing you here Bunny. Sepiatone

Glad to see you Sepiatone!
I took a look at the TCM boards just now, and though some were able to post a quick comment or two earlier this morning, the boards are most certainly now closed. I was still able to login in, but I'm sure that will go away soon as the remainder is read-only and there's no need for login to do that. I did login though to see if there was still an opening for comments, and there is no longer a space to make comments. I also went to the TCM homepage, and they have removed the "Message Boards" tab.
So for anyone who was a little bit excited this morning about the very brief reprieve, I do hope they managed to finish their smoke and replace their blindfold before.....BANG.....

It looks like it is officially dead.
I posted several times this morning before it went!
Interestingly, you can still leave a notification for a post, but can no longer respond.
