There are so many aspects of both of these films to love, but for me, when push comes to shove, this one can come down to calling it a battle between Franz Waxman and Irving Berlin. I love you, Franz, but Irving is my man. It's Top Hat for me.

While I think Top Hat is the best of the Rogers-Astaire films, the fact remains, there are 10 Rogers-Astaire films worth of amazing dance routines. There is only one Norma Desmond.

Not necessarily true! Roh oh! D*mn that joke gets even funnier the second time around. I can't concentrate on my voting tabulations with Carol's dramatic bosom hanging over my mind.

As much as I love SUNSET BOULEVARD, I still gotta go with TOP HAT. Not only does it have great songs and dancing, but it truly is a funny film. I'm surprised it never makes it on the "screwball comedy" lists.
