Capra and Cukor and Wilder -- oh my!
Each of these three is deserving. Writing, directing, lead acting, and so much more are wonderful all-round here, but you know what I'm going to do? I'm going with the supporting work. I do enjoy Virginia Weidler in The Philadelphia Story, but I feel even stronger about Hope Holiday, Ray Walston, Edie Adams, Naomi Stevens, and all the rest in The Apartment. They win my vote.
