I've never watched "Never Look Back," yet I chose it because it stars Rosamund John. We were all infatuated with her after watching, "The Upturned Glass," although not quite ready to push anyone out of a window over her. Maybe after this we will be!
In this one she plays a newly appointed barrister with a tricky case. This is a 1950's film quite modern after three mid 30's ones. Please join us!

"Never Look Back" looks like a fun one and, as Andrea notes, it stars our new crush, Rosamund John.
It will be fun to "travel" forward to the 1950s for a day.
This is the best link to the movie I could find "Never Look Back" . The good news is it appears to be commercial free on Youtube and the print quality is pretty good but not great. Hence, if anyone finds a better one, please post it. Thank you.

This is one I had never heard of before...and I am eager to see it. Rosamund John exudes class...it will be interesting to see how she does in this melodrama. I noticed Brenda de Banzie is in the supporting cast, and she's one of my favorite British character actresses.
***
The print Fading Fast found on YouTube is 1 hour 13 minutes. There is a version of NEVER LOOK BACK on the Russian site that is 1 hour 9 minutes and 58 seconds...it is in sepia and is a much clearer print, with better sound quality. My guess is this was the one shown in the U.S. market after a few cuts to satisfy our censors.

ok.ru/video/3047242533432 I almost always go with the better print, so thank you for finding and posting it, but I'm intrigued by the "naughtier" British version. What kind of shenanigans were those Brits up to in those extra three minutes and two seconds?

The plot for this film seems fairly unique...lady lawyer is romantically torn between client she is representing, AND the prosecutor who is smitten with her. Has that ever been done in any other movie?

I am trying to go in knowing nothing but Andrea Doria you had me at Barrister. This is my milieu. To me this is monumental.
The first Queen's Counsel Extraordinary was Sir Francis Bacon, who was given a patent giving him precedence at the Bar in 1597, and formally styled King's Counsel in 1603.
The first woman appointed King's Counsel was Helen Kinnear in Canada in 1934. The first women to be appointed as King's Counsel in England and Wales were Helena Normanton and Rose Heilbron in 1949. They were preceded by Margaret Kidd KC (later Dame Margaret Kidd QC) appointed a KC in Scotland in 1948.
Woman have only been allowed to practice law for just over 100 years in England: On 23rd December 1919, The Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919 made it possible for Women to enter the legal profession for the first time.

So she's a very successful attorney, single, with good looking men after her...not bad.

She has a wonderful lilt to her voice (I do not have a crush on her, I am way too mature for that).
