Terrible name of thread, I know, but what else to call it. In NORTH BY NORTHWEST the officer arresting Grant for DUI, is named Emil Klinger-also the name of Jamie Farr's M.A.S.H. character. In KISS ME KATE(released 1953) Ann Miller's character is Lois Lane. Superman comics had been around since mid 30's and the tv series was popular in the 50's.
Any other interesting cases and if there was some intention to using the name from a film or tv show?

In The Day of the Locust (1975), Donald Sutherland's character is "Homer Simpson."

Farr's character's name in M*A*S*H was MAXWELL Klinger. Not Emil. But interesting subject. I'll have to pay closer attention to all those retro TV shows I watch to see if I can catch any. Sepiatone
