In watching THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE on TCM last night, two things about it bothered me since first seeing it at the show in '62.
First, notice in the flashback, Woody Strode's POMPEY character has absolutely no hair anywhere on his head. But, as an old man, he somehow sprouted snow white hair in that "horseshoe" around the sides and back of his head. White eyebrows would have made the point just as well.
Second, at the convention to choose the delegates, the view of the room from the front had the statehood people on the left of the screen and the open range folks on the right side. Yet, the view of the same room from the back of the room(where the double swinging doors were) Shows them both still on the left side(statehood) and right side(open range) when from that view their positions should have been reversed. Statehood on the right, open range on the left. It always baffled me how a man with the movie making smarts that you'd expect from John Ford would let that get out to the theaters.
