Looking for a good copy of SUGARFOOT (1951) a Warner Brothers western starring Randolph Scott. There's a poor copy on the Russian site. I cannot find anything better, anywhere else. If you have any idea where to look, please post on this thread....thanks.

A classic studio era flick that has totally vanished off the face of the earth is a 1939 MGM comedy starring Ann Sothern, Lewis Stone and Walter Brennan called JOE AND ETHEL TURP CALL ON THE PRESIDENT.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_and_Ethel_Turp_Call_on_the_President
A few years ago I could find a copy of it online, but now I cannot. And it was never given a DVD release. Obviously, legal rights issues prevent this title from being available. I think TCM only ever broadcast it once, long ago.
If anyone knows where we can view this film, please chime in!

There are several RKO programmers that TCM never airs and to my knowledge, these have never been released on home video, at least I don't think they have.
Titles include--
The Dr. Christian series: MEET DR. CHRISTIAN (1939); THE COURAGEOUS DR. CHRISTIAN (1940); DR. CHRISTIAN MEETS THE WOMEN (1940); REMEDY FOR RICHES (1940); MELODY FOR THREE (1941); and THEY MEET AGAIN (1941).
The Scattergood Baines series: SCATTERGOOD BAINES (1941); SCATTERGOOD PULLS THE STRINGS (1941); SCATTERGOOD MEETS BROADWAY (1941); SCATTERGOOD RIDES HIGH (1942); SCATTERGOOD SURVIVES A MURDER (1942); CINDRELLA SWINGS IT (1943).
*** If anyone knows where to find any of these, please speak up!

I hope people are reading this thread and can someday provide help on these titles...LOL
Another one that I am anxious to see again is THE GOLDEN GLOVES STORY (1950) a fine sports drama featuring James Dunn and Dewey Martin. I remember this one being filmed largely on location in Chicago during cold months of the year.
It was digitally restored, because I saw a pristine print of this online about five years ago but it has since vanished. I don't think it's ever been released on DVD.

Did a search: Youtube has one here: youtu.be/7eU8YCSbq_8And then there's one on this page: m4uhd.tv/watch-movie-sugarfoot-1951-241795.htmlCan't attest to the quality(or site safety for that matter)of either, but they looked decent to me. Good luck!

In the review section of THAT archive.org page, are links to the rest of the series.
In my opinion, the copies are very rough, as if they were from a movie camera pointed at a tv screen. But in the meantime, maybe they will do?

Thanks. Yes, the Dr. Christian films and the Scattergood Baines films (also released thru RKO) have been woefully neglected.
The best Dr. Christian film in my opinion is MELODY FOR THREE which has a very good story and a wonderful performance by Fay Wray.

I was looking up an actress on IMDB and noticed under lists a website RICHARDSOLDMOVIES.COM. SUGARFOOT is one of the films in the Randolph Scott collection. I looked at the site. A bunch of films are offered on one DVD and for European customers they state they will burn the dvd in PAL format. I don't know if these people have the rights to be copying and selling at incredibly low prices. Seems like a warning that it's too good to be true may be in order.

Thanks for the info...I like how he has things organized by star and by director. You're right, SUGARFOOT is there. I clicked on the Ann Sothern link, but he does not have JOE AND ETHEL TURP CALL ON THE PRESIDENT.
I imagine that in ten years from now, when many films from the 1930s have fallen into the public domain we will see more hard-to-find films online, including the ones that have been tangled up in rights issues.
